ERUPTIVE RUSH Mission -: "You got to be kidding me! When has this been a cryo volcano?!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Blaine Upgrades Applied: None On Radio: Prof. Oak Mission: Reach the top of the volcano. Detail: In this mission, something's happened to the volcano and everything around it, causing it to become severely iced over. Even the usual magma of the volcano has become ice magma, and thus acts like liquid ice, causing instant death if you touch it. For this mission, you're going to have to make it to Team Magma's base, but this time everything is slippery and in addition to Team Magma robots, you're also having to deal with Ice-based Team Rocket robots (all human enemies have fled this area due to what's happening). In addition to the rising ice magma, you also have to deal with ice jets instead of flame jets, ice geysers instead of lava geysers, and also giant ice spikes that you need to attack to break. The temperature for the area reads –14 degrees Celsius and is dropping. Once you have made it to Team Magma's base, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: The ice magma in the crater rises faster.

MARINE STATION Mission -: "Underwater Speed Cannon rally! Reach the Goal Gate!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Cissy Upgrades Applied: None On Radio: (-----) Mission: Reach the Goal Gate. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a series of Speed Cannons (a variation of the Barrel Cannons from Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary mode, also seen in Pokemon Peace Squad 3) going mostly under the water. You start on a metal dock platform with a Speed Cannon that sends you underwater into a series of more Cannons and Bumper Walls. While making your way through the sequence, you'll have to watch out not to fire yourself into Sharpedo Subs, Laser Lanturns, Cloyster Shells, Mantine Jets, and also anchored mines. You also have to watch your air meter when underwater and shoot yourself into air bubbles along the way. At one point, you'll shoot onto a platform floating on the water's surface with a switch that changes the position of some of the Bumper Walls, and then fire out of a Speed Cannon back underwater. Once you reach the end of the run, you'll land on a metal dock on the surface with the Goal Gate. Simply pass through to clear the mission. Challenge Mode: A time limit of 4:00 is in place.

FLOWER CITY Mission -: "Upside down vine grind! Reach the end of the high run!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Gardenia Upgrades Applied: Chaos Capacitor On Radio: (-----) Mission: Reach the Goal Gate. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a series of vines amidst the colossal flowers. However, none of the vines are set up in a way that you can grind them normally, and will rely on grabbing Violet Chaos Shards and using Reverse Walk to grind upside-down and sideways vines. You start the stage by falling into a Violet Chaos Shard and need to activate Reverse Walk immediately to land on upside-down vines. At some points you have to homing attack Jumpluff Drifters and you'll come across two sets of Violet Chaos Shards on the path. You need to collect one from each set to reach the end of the path. At the end is the Goal Gate on the massive leaf of a flower. Upon reaching the leaf, simply deactivate Reverse Walk and head into the Goal Gate to clear the mission. Challenge Mode: There are breaks in some of the vines and the Jumpluff Drifters are replaced by highest-tier Venomoth Drones. Music Note: The Planet Wisp Act 2 theme from the Wii version of Sonic Colors plays in the background for this mission.

DEATH CASTLE Mission -: "Team Rocket's locked us all up here! We need to escape fast!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Riley Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Looker Mission: Find all the Sinnoh Elite Four members and Frontier Brains. Detail: In this mission, Team Rocket has kidnapped each member of the Sinnoh Elite Four, the Battle Frontier, and even the Champion Cynthia and locked all of them up in this creepy dungeon. Riley has volunteered to head deep into the castle to rescue them. You start inside the dungeon and will have to make your way around the place to find each person. The good news, the poison water is already drained from the dungeon. The bad news, this means that the giant executioner Dusknoir are roaming the place. (For the record, these Dusknoir are based on the Executioner from Resident Evil 5, but carry a large scythe instead of an axe. Also, how they dispatch you remains in the Teen range, being as if your HP was reduced to 0 by a regular attack.) Like in Story Mode, if a Dusknoir slashes you with its scythe, you're done for. Look all around the halls of cells for each person you need to rescue. You must rescue Aaron, Bertha, Flint, Lucian, Palmer, Thornton, Argenta, Dahlia, Darach & Caitlin (put in the same cell), and finally Cynthia. You need to defeat Team Rocket robots guarding Rocket Cages holding switches to each cell, and the switch for Cynthia's cell is the most heavily guarded. Once you've freed each Elite Four member and Frontier Brain, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: A time limit of 10:00 is in place.

CYBER CARNIVAL Mission -: "Team Plasma's stealing the digital energy of this place! We need to put a stop to them quick!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Wattson Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives, Chaos Capacitor On Radio: (-----) Mission: Destroy all 10 Cyber Capsules. Detail: In this mission, Team Plasma's out to steal the cyber energy powering up the cyberspace park. Placed throughout the stage are capsules called Cyber Capsules, which are only vulnerable to Power Spheres, hence Blue Chaos Shards can be found as well. In addition to Team Plasma guards and robots, Porygon2 Trooper robots keep appearing throughout the stage due to the Cyber Capsules being active. If one is destroyed, another or even two will teleport in. When you start attacking a Cyber Capsule, a small dimensional area will materialize over the area due to digital energy leaking from the capsule. This traps you inside the area with endless Porygon2 Troopers until you destroy the capsule. For the record, it takes two fully charged Power Spheres to destroy a Cyber Capsule, so don't start attacking one unless your Chaos Meter is full, or you'll trap yourself inside the dimensional area without any means to deactivate it. Doing so causes you to fail the mission. Once all ten Cyber Capsules are destroyed, Team Plasma will withdraw from the digital park and you'll have cleared the mission. Challenge Mode: There are now 15 Cyber Capsules to destroy and a time limit of 15:00 is in place. For the record, dimensional areas are something that's borrowed from the Mega Man: Axess anime. Team Plasma happens to produce devices that can create them.

ELECTRIC SKY Mission -: "Chaos Shard Run up the sky wall!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Liza (equipped Pokémon: Charla) Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives, Chaos Capacitor On Radio: (-----) Mission: Reach the top of the wall. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a seemingly endless wall going upward. However, a massive yellow laser (being fired from the Plasma Cloud according to the mission) is moving upward, destroying the wall in the process. For this mission, you have to get to the top of the wall before the laser reaches you. You'll start on a ramp going onto the wall with a Red Chaos Shard. Quickly activate Jet Blitz and start rushing up the wall. Time will slow down at points to alert you to hazards such as turns, moving laser fields, walls, both normal and ones you can break through, and various Team Plasma robots. Halfway up the wall, you'll run into a Violet Chaos Shard and will need to activate Reverse Walk and start running up the wall normally. You'll now have to get past walls (some of which require Liza's superjump), normal lasers, and strips of the color shifting tiles the stage normally has. Dash Panels along the path will help you reach the top of the wall before the Chaos Shard runs out. When it comes to the tiles, Liza having Charla equipped means she can go on both the red and blue tiles (Fire is covered by red, Flying is covered by blue). You'll eventually reach the Goal Gate at the top of the wall. Crossing it clears the mission. Challenge Mode: The path has been retooled. Additionally, Liza has Flareon equipped instead (meaning Liza can only cross the red tiles). Music Note: The Hurry Up theme from Super Mario Galaxy 2 plays in the background for this mission.

ICEBERG CAVERN Mission -: "Chao Search! Find all 10 Chao!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Floreia Upgrades Applied: Materia, Chaos Capacitor On Radio: (-----) Mission: Find all 10 Chao. Detail: Do you remember in the Xbox360/PS3 versions of Sonic Unleashed how some missions had you search a stage for 10 Chao? Such missions were also in Pokémon Peace Squad 3 along with some additional Chao missions for some stages. This game has such missions as well. You're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a series of caverns and tunnels surrounding a central gallery. Anyway, 10 Chao are hidden throughout this frigid place, and it's not easy to find them. The two main outer caverns have ice mazes on the ceiling that you need to use Violet Chaos Shards (which you can get by attacking giant violet crystals throughout the area). In fact, two of the Chao happen to be located on such ceilings. About half of all the Chao are locked inside Crystal Cubes, meaning that you need to find and use Blue Chaos Shards (you can get them by attacking giant blue crystals) to free them. You even have to fire a Power Sphere upward in one of the main areas to break open a Crystal Cube on the ceiling holding one of the Chao, then get a Violet Chaos Shard to go onto the ceiling and get the Chao. The central area has a frigid pool of water where one of the Chao is found. Even if you search everywhere normal, you still may be two Chao short. For one of these Chao, you need to dive into the water and swim through an underwater tunnel to reach a hidden room that has a Chao locked inside a Crystal Cube (you have to have a Blue Chaos Shard before heading into the water since the room doesn't hold any way to get such a Shard. The most overlooked Chao is difficult to reach because you first have to find Arbo Tanks (among the Team Rocket robots found in this mission) and destroy them (they regenerate) until you find a Yellow Chaos Shard inside one of them, then head to the northeast area of the northern cavern, burrow into the ice, and go under the wall until you reach a hidden room where the Chao is found. A Yellow Chaos Shard is found in this room to allow you to head back into the previous area if you don't have enough Chaos Energy to go back. Once you found all 10 Chao, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: There are now 15 Chao to find, and they're all placed in harder to reach locations.

MAGNETIC CAVE Mission -: "Let's search for the lost Magnus Treasure!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Brandon Upgrades Applied: Chaos Capacitor On Radio: (-----) Mission: Reach the Magnus Treasure. Detail: 100 years ago, a man by the name of Magnus sealed away a massive treasure of silver, gold, and diamonds within this magnetic cavern. It's now time to find this legendary treasure. In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a simple room with a Yellow Chaos Shard. Anyway, the mission is to burrow into the ground and keep going down until you reach the Magnus Treasure. Along the way are blocks, spikes, bombs, and also pockets of magnetic sludge (which like they normally do in the stage will pull you in towards them). During your descent happen to be two more Yellow Chaos Shards since the treasure is hidden very deep. Eventually, the ultimate Spiral Drill ride will land you in a cavern with three large doors, each one with a switch that opens the door. The left room is filled with silver, the upper room is filled with gold, and the right room is filled with diamonds. Upon having entered all three rooms, Brandon will comment on the size of the Magnus Treasure, which at this point the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: You're not allowed to touch any obstructions during your descent. Doing so results in a mission failure.

COSMIC FALL Mission -: "The ARK is falling! It's best you fall upward!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Samantha Upgrades Applied: Chaos Capacitor On Radio: (-----) Mission: Reach the top platform. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a series of falling platforms and other objects. You start on a passageway that will break apart in 10 seconds. On it is a Violet Chaos Shard. After grabbing it, activate Reverse Walk and you'll start falling upward. This is the mission; you have to keep falling upward. Team Draco robots, floating mines, falling debris, meteors, large blocks, and falling passageways make things harder. You have only a couple seconds more than enough Chaos Energy to reach the top platform, and if you move too close to a block or platform, your gravity will adjust to it, causing you to lose time and likely not be able to make it to the top. Note that since the lowest platform will be gone, you have only one shot to do this fall. You also can't run into enemies or bombs more than twice if you want to make it to the top. Once you reach the top passageway, move enough to the side and either have the Chaos Meter run out or turn off Reverse Walk and land on the platform. On the platform is a transport device that will take you into the ARK's power plant. Head through the short corridor until you reach a door that opens up into a small room holding a Goal Gate. Simply head into it to clear the mission. Challenge Mode: The Violet Chaos Shard is replaced with a Teal Chaos Shard, requiring you to Aero Jump to the top platform. You need to grab a second Shard during the ascent to make it to the top.

LUNAR GADGET Mission -: "It's the second Chaos Shard Run!" Unlocked: (--------------------) Character: Trixie (equipped Pokémon: Azumarill, choice) Upgrades Applied: Tanks, Chaos Capacitor On Radio: (-----) Mission: Reach the top of the wall. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a seemingly endless wall going upward similar to the one from Mission – of Electric Sky, this one located somewhere above the surface of the moon. A massive teal laser is being fired from somewhere unknown and is moving upward, and it's destroying the wall as it rises. This is tougher than Electric Sky's Mission - and has you start off by grabbing a Red Chaos Shard near a ramp going up. This part of the wall has hazards such as moving lasers, walls, both breakable and normal, and turns. You'll then reach a Teal Chaos Shard and will have to quickly use Aero Jump to start going up in the air. Hazards such as lasers and glass walls that you need to spin into are present here. You'll eventually reach a Violet Chaos Shard and will now Reverse Walk your way up this part of the wall. There are lasers and energy pools to watch out for here until you reach a gravity switch. The switch will set you on the wall and you'll get a Blue Chaos Shard, which you'll have to use to break more glass walls and also Crystal Cubes holding things such as springs and switches that lower walls in your way. The final stretch of the wall has a gravity switch that sets gravity to upside down and you'll grab a Clear Chaos Shard you need to use wisely to get through blue multi-laser grids that you'll fall through. Team Rocket and Team Draco robots make your ascent harder. You'll eventually reach the Goal Gate on top of the wall. Pass through it to clear the mission. Challenge Mode: More gravity switches have been placed along the wall. These are traps that will send you falling in a sideways direction to your death. Music Note: The Hurry Up theme from Super Mario Galaxy 2 plays in the background for this mission.
