MARBLE ZONE Mission 5: "ALYSSA: Erika, this chamber is filling up with lava fast! We need to work together to reach the top!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 4 Characters: Erika (Fly-type), Alyssa (Power-type) Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Omochao Note: In the game, there is an option to turn Omochao off (which is on off by default). If Omochao is set to off, he doesn't appear in any Special Mission or say anything to you in them. Mission: Reach the top of the area in time. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a large octagonal shaft going upward. The scrolling for this mission is entirely 2D, going along the sides of the shaft. The problem is that the shaft contains lava that starts to rise quickly and doesn't stop! (For the record, this mission is meant to be similar to the 6-K stage in Donkey Kong Country Returns.) As you make your way along the pathways and platforms going along the walls, you're going to have use Erika's enhanced Jump stat and double jumps to clear some areas and use Alyssa's enhanced Power stat and ability to break large blocks that Erika can't in order to reach the top. Making things harder are Glires that travel down the walls and a robot resembling a Caterkiller but electrified and floats in the air. This enemy is called an Electrikiller and it homes in on you. Any direct contact with it will cause you to take damage and become paralyzed, so use ranged attacks to deal with them. As the lava rises, plug-like blocks on the walls break open to pour more lava into the chamber and you'll have to ride some blocks upward when the lava reaches them (including utilizing two such blocks with springs on them). There are no items of any kind in this mission, so you can't heal yourself, and if a character who's not in the lead has hr HP reduced to 0, while it won't count as a mission failure, there are no Gates of any kind, so if you reach an area where you need a specific character to pass and that character isn't present, you might as well restart. At the top of the area is a Barrel Cannon that will shoot you upward to an area where all you have to do is go right and into the Goal Gate to clear the mission. Challenge Mode: Neither Erika nor Alyssa is allowed to touch the lava. Doing so results in a mission failure. Additionally, each of them wears an Inhibit Belt.

MUSHROOM HILL Mission 5: "We need to not only free those Chao from Team Flora's clutches, but also avoid that Grass Pokémon-like jet!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 4 Character: Team Café (Spring, Summer, Autumn) Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Omochao Mission: Rescue 10 Chao and reach the Goal Gate in 8:00. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a 2D-scrolling section (except for the Goal Gate area) in the summer (which is depicted with bolder colors than the spring setting and magenta-color mushrooms). Team Flora has captured and imprisoned 10 green-color Chao. However, this is made difficult due to all the Team Flora robots strewn throughout the area. Especially bad are the Whismicameras, all of which in this mission come with 3D holo scanners. If a character gets caught by one in this mission, a Tropius-like jet will teleport in and start launching green cutter-like projectiles and also solar bombs that white out the screen. It'll disappear after 15 seconds and can be destroyed by strong attacks before it leaves, but even if that is accomplished, getting caught by another Whismicamera will only cause another Tropius Jet to teleport in. All of the Chao are locked if Flora Cages, some of which have switches near them, some of which require you to defeat the robotic foes near them. A barrier blocks the Goal Gate and it only lowers once all 10 Chao are rescued. Once that's done, head for the Goal Gate and go into it to clear the mission. Challenge Mode: The time is reduced to 6:00 and getting caught by a Whismicamera causes you to fail the mission. Music Note: The Sonic Generations Classic remix of Planet Wisp from Sonic Colors plays in the background for this mission.

HONEY KINGDOM Mission 10: "MARIAH: Those giant Beedrill are <P6> off for some reason!" Gloom and I will help you get past them! Unlocked: Clear Mission 9 Character: Sonrisa Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Omochao Mission: Reach the Goal Gate within 5:00 Detail: In this mission, you'll be going through a portion of the main stage, where a number of the cavernous hive's Beedrill are agitated and patrolling the area. Their movement is similar to that of Zingers in the Donkey Kong Country series, and they move in various patterns! You'll have Mariah (that is, the Johto one) as an Assist Character for this mission, like with the others, can be summoned with X. Mariah's Gloom still knows Bounce, and will take hold of you whenever it uses it, allowing you to reach heights you can't normally reach. There are no foes in this mission other than the giant Beedrill, which can be defeated with a hefty amount of attacks, but you should focus on making your way through the stage. The final part of the stage is done from a 2D perspective and has you memorizing the movement patterns of several Beedrill in order to Bounce up past them. Remember that Mariah's HP being reduced to 0 results in a mission failure. Once you reach the Goal Gate, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: The time limit is reduced to 3:30. Additionally, both Sonrisa and Mariah wear Inhibit Belts. Music Note: A Pokémon Peace Squad remix of Tracey's theme from Pokémon Puzzle League plays in the background for this mission. A remix of the "tense" version plays when there is only 1:00 left on the timer.

GEOTECH WATERWORKS Mission 10: "MARINA: Misty, long time, no see! My Starmie's newest technique will take those robots down!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 9 Character: Misty Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Omochao Mission: Reach the Goal Gate within 5:00. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a pathway where the movement is mostly in 2D, but has two 3D segments as well. You'll have Marina (that is, the Orange Islands one) as an Assist Character for this mission, like with the others, can be summoned with X. Marina's Starmie has learned a new technique utilizing Rapid Spin, and that is something Marina calls Star Boomerang, which is where she flings Starmie forward, taking out any foes in its path, then it returns to her. You can set the trajectory of the strike before sending out Starmie, and its range is impressive, allowing you to attack enemies that not even Hydro Pump and Flamethrower can reach. You'll need to utilize this at times to hit various foes along the path like Sharpedo Subs, Laser Lanturns (both are only found underwater), Azumarill Bombers, Politoed Slimers, and Gastrodon Tanks (both versions) or activate switches in order to activate energy paths and platforms in order to progress to the end. Remember that Marina's HP being reduced to 0 results in a mission failure. Once you reach the Goal Gate, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: The time limit is reduced to 4:00. Additionally, both Misty and Marina wear Inhibit Belts. Music Note: A Pokémon Peace Squad remix of Misty's theme from Pokémon Puzzle League plays in the background for this mission. A remix of the "tense" version plays when there is only 1:00 left on the timer.

COLLISION CHAOS Mission 10: "ROMEO: Juliet's stuck on the other side of this place, but there are invisible robots that won't let us pass!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 9 Character: Sabrina Upgrades Applied: Materia On Radio: Omochao Mission: Reach Juliet within 4:30. Detail: In this mission, you'll be going through a portion of the main stage at night, and the gimmick here is that all enemies in the mission, which consist of Team Plasma robots, the robots found here in Sonic CD, and a few others like Glunders, Auroros, and Razor Traps, are invisible. You'll have Romeo as an Assist Character for this mission, like with the others, can be summoned with X. Romeo's main Volbeat, Beat, can use Tail Glow to illuminate a bit of the area, allowing you to see the robots and also other invisible things like spikes, flippers, bumpers, springs, and platforms. Beat can also use Signal Beam to deal with some of the foes you come up against. Remember that Romeo's HP being reduced to 0 results in a mission failure. Once you reach Juliet, she and Romeo will reunite, and the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: The time limit is reduced to 3:45. Additionally, Sabrina wears an Inhibit Belt. Music Note: A Pokémon Peace Squad remix of Sabrina's theme from Pokémon Puzzle League plays in the background for this mission. A remix of the "tense" version plays when there is only 1:00 left on the timer.

GRAVITY COMPLEX Mission 10: "WILHELMINA: Leave it to me and my parasol to get you through this crazy place!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 9 Character: Trixie Upgrades Applied: Tanks On Radio: Omochao Mission: Reach the Goal Gate within 6:00. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, an exterior area with paths that are spaced out too far to simply jump them. The movement here is in both 3D and 2D, and you'll have Wilhelmina as an Assist Character for this mission, like with the others, can be summoned with X. While you can use her Azumarill to take out various Team Draco foes found in the area, you'll need to utilize her peculiar parasol drifting skills to cross the large gaps. When you jump when Wilhelmina is summoned, Trixie will grab onto her waist, and pressing the jump button again will have Wilhelmina use her parasol to drift in the air, which acts just like Knuckles and Rouge's gilding in Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. While gliding, you can attack foes like you would normally, and you may have to since foes like Vibrava Drones, Seadra Twisters, Auroros, and Tracking Bombs clutter some of the gaps. There are gravity gates along the path, so the gravity will change up as well. The final gap is guarded by three Hover Turrets you need to get past. Remember that Wilhelmina's HP being reduced to 0 results in a mission failure. Once you reach the Goal Gate, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: The time limit is reduced to 4:30. Additionally, both Trixie and Wilhelmina wear Inhibit Belts. Music Note: A Pokémon Peace Squad remix of Brock's theme from Pokémon Puzzle League plays in the background for this mission. A remix of the "tense" version plays when there is only 1:00 left on the timer.
