(Part 2)" Unlocked: Clear Mission 2A Character: Choice (Trinity Team, Custom Team, or Single Player) Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Eggman Mission: Defeat the Team Plasma guards and reach the Goal Gate. Detail: Like Mission 2A, this mission is meant to be if the Sonic Generations version of City Escape was in Pokémon Peace Squad 1. You're going through the Modern portion of the stage, but with all the G.U.N. foes replaced with Team Plasma foes (only those that appeared in this stage in PPS1 are present). Where the G.U.N. truck would appear, the Manectric City Hovertruck will come onto the scene, and in addition to the magnetic barrier, the truck will fire plasma spheres from two cannons that open up on the front of the truck. Where the G.U.N. truck would pull out the sawblades, the Manectric City Hovertruck will begin to fire lasers from its top. Near the end of the ordeal, the Manectric City Hovertruck will show off its hovering capabilities by going into the air and chasing you along the sides of some buildings before it hits a strong stone pillar. Reach the Goal Gate to clear the mission. Challenge Mode: The Materia upgrades are equipped, but you're given a Jenny Mode time limit of 5:45 to complete the mission.

NIGHT SIEGE Note: In all missions for this stage except Mission 1, Plasmae's electrical control over Stardust City is not present. All digital signs display what they normally do, pillars and platforms function normally, and no antenna towers or satellite dishes fire anything at you. Also, cars function normally in both halves (the cars move like they do in the Sonic Generations version of Speed Highway). Mission 7: "What if nobody rigged a bomb at the Goal Gate?"
Unlocked: Clear Mission 4A
Character: Bugsy
Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives, Advanced Pearl
On Radio: Lance
Mission: Defeat Misty.
Detail: This mission drops you right into the second half of the stage from the get-go. For the mission, your goal is to get to where you'd normally fight Misty and then defeat her. You need not worry about the normal objectives, just focus on getting to the last defense checkpoint. The regular cutscene will play, followed by the fight. Here, your goal is to defeat Misty. If you can defeat Misty before Misty defeats you, you've cleared the mission.
Challenge Mode: A time limit of 5:00 for this part of the stage is in place.
Mission 8A: "This week on Cissy vs. Floreia: Who can dash through Stardust City faster? (Part 1)"
Unlocked: Clear Mission 7
Character: Cissy
Upgrades Applied: Materia, Intermediate Diamond
On Radio: Drake-OI
Mission: Reach the end of the first area before Floreia does.
Detail: (Cutscene) Cissy and Floreia are standing next to each other. Floreia begins describing the challenge: The competition on this week's show is who can dash through Stardust City faster. Floreia explains "the main rule" for the challenge, and that's all racing must be done on foot, and then asks Cissy to take "the vow". "The vow", in which Cissy vows that she won't attempt to cheat like she's tried to do in the past, is apparently part of the ritual. In addition, both Cissy and Floreia will be wearing special belts (Inhibit Belts) to make things a bit more fair.
In this mission, your goal is quite simple: Just reach the end of the Mission Street area of the stage, which has been retooled to be similar to Expert Mode in this game, before Floreia can get there. Although the premise of Mission 8 is an episode of an Orange Islands-based take on the Canadian show "Kenny vs. Spenny" (a show based on two friends who hold competitions against each other; ironically, while the actual show and its real-world international versions have pitted only male contenders, the contenders here are both female), the eventual outcome rests on the results of both the A and B halves of the mission. Your performance in the A half of the stage will carry over to the B half and impact events there. Reach the finish line before Floreia and you clear the mission. You'll have to try again if Floreia beats you...
Challenge Mode: No changes. Playing the mission in this mode is merely to set the performance that will carry over to the Challenge Mode for the B half--preparing for a plot twist there.
Music Note: The music that plays during the initial cutscene is a remix of "Mezase Pokémon Master" in the style of the start of a normal episode of Kenny vs. Spenny. A Sonic Generations remix of Stardust Speedway Present (JP) from Sonic CD plays in the background during the mission itself.
Mission 8B: "This week on Cissy vs. Floreia: Who can dash through Stardust City faster? (Part 2)"
Unlocked: Clear Mission 8A
Character: Floreia
Upgrades Applied: Materia, Intermediate Diamond
On Radio: Drake-OI
Mission: Reach The Goal Gate before Cissy does.
Detail: This mission drops you right into the Radical Highway half of the stage from the get-go. Picking up from where 8A left off, Cissy has entered Radical Highway, which has been retooled to be similar to Expert Mode in this game, in the lead. How much of a lead depends on how far Floreia was behind Cissy at the end of the last successful playing of 8A. Here, your goal is to get Floreia to the end of the stage first. If you get Floreia across into the Goal Gate before Cissy can get there, you clear the mission and get to watch the "humiliation" cutscene. You fail the mission if Cissy gets to the Goal Gate first.
(Cutscene) The cutscene takes place outside the movie theater on Mandarin Island, the one that was depicted in a bonus stage from the PPS1's difficulty packs. Floreia explains that, as the loser of the Stardust City dash episode, for Cissy's humiliation, Cissy has to see a romantic movie of Floreia's choosing with Danny accompanying her. Floreia has chosen "Pokémon Magical Journey" (which is the name of an actual Pokémon manga). As usual, we see Cissy and Danny arguing over arrangements--Cissy is looking for a way to get out of the theater early and to find a way to put as many seats between her and Danny as possible, while Danny explains that they have to see the whole movie together, sitting right next to each other, as part of the conditions of the humiliation. It's clear that both of them are clearly disgusted over all this, with Danny mumbling, "Why did I even agree to partake in these humiliations in the first place" under his breath as the cutscene fades out once Cissy and Danny are in the theater. (Apparently, any of the humiliation Danny gets dragged into, which is most of them, appears to be just as humiliating for Danny as it is for the loser of the challenge.)
Challenge Mode: Only playable upon clearing the A half in the Challenge Mode. Cissy has apparently removed her Inhibit Belt and dropped it on the first solid ground--clearly breaking "the vow". Upon Floreia seeing this, she vows that, "She must not win! I will not do a humiliation!"
Music Note: The Sonic Generations remix of Stardust Speedway Bad Future (JP) from Sonic CD plays in the background during the mission itself. The music that plays during the aftermath cutscene is a remix of "High Touch!" (the 13th Japanese opening theme of the Pokémon anime) in the style of the humiliation sequence of a typical episode of Kenny vs. Spenny.
Mission 9: "Spideribbon girl! Spideribbon Girl! Does whatever a Spideribbon Girl can!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 8B Character: Samantha Upgrades Applied: None On Radio: Omochao Mission: Reach the North Star Tower. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place never visited normally in the stage, a number of tall skyscrapers in the Radical Highway half with a few highways amidst them. In this unusual mission, Samantha will have to use her ribbons for an unusual feat; going from building to building like Spiderman! You're asked if you want to see a tutorial on how to do this before you actually start the mission. When swinging your way through the stage, if you're close enough to a pole, wall, or other object (such as various flying Team Plasma robots), a target cursor will appear and you can grab it using one of your ribbons with the X button. The mission is simple, since there's no ground for you other than where the Goal Gate is, you're going to have to swing your way there. One of the things you're going to have to swing across are various flying enemies, such as Magneton Shields, Porygon2 Troopers, and Metang Carriers. Also along the ride are Tracking Bombs, Cymuls, and Rotom Generators. The latter two can't be swung from since the Cymul's blades will cut up the ribbon and Rotom Generators being entirely composed of plasma will cause the ribbon's end to burn. Basically, you need to avoid latching onto those two since the target cursor can also go on them. Eventually, you'll reach a New York City-like clock tower, the North Star Tower, where you'll have to swing your way up to reach the Goal Gate on top. Once you pass through it, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: There are now far more Tracking Bombs, Cymuls, and Rotom Generators. In addition, all Magneton Shields kick up their shields and getting caught in a Metang Carrier's holo scanner causes you to fail the mission. Music Note: The #2 background track is used for this stage.
Mission 10A: "That laser satellite's targeting you! You need to shut it down quick!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 9 Character: Paris Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Miki Mission: Find the control source of the laser satellite. Detail: As the mission begins, Team Plasma helicopters fly onto the scene. Paris realizes that Team Plasma has returned, and something needs to be done about it!
As we quickly discover, Team Plasma has a small array of laser satellites orbiting the earth, and one has set its sights on you in the Mission Street area of the stage. Throughout this mission, laser lightning will strike down from above, and normally towards where you're at. Every 10 seconds, a laser blast will shoot down close to you, making this mission a bit like Westopolis in Shadow the Hedgehog. Your mission is to make it to the end of the stage, dodging Team Plasma robots along the way (note that the laser strikes can destroy any caught within the radius). Once you get to where you the path leading up to the second half of the stage normally is, you'll find a lone female Team Plasma Grunt using a laptop to control the satellite. Simply defeat her to shut down the satellite and clear the mission. Challenge Mode: The environment has been tweaked to resemble Expert Mode of this game. Also, the Team Plasma Grunt is now inside a large Plasma Cage, and the only way to open it is to destroy every Team Plasma robot in the first half of the stage. Some of these robots are in hidden places and there's a teleporter in front of the Plasma Cage that sends you to a teleporter back at the start of the stage. Music Note: A Sonic Generations remix of the Westopolis theme from Shadow the Hedgehog plays in the background for this mission. Special Note: The sky and lighting for this mission is sunrise.
Mission 10B: "It's an endless sea of Team Plasma's virtual robots! Shut down their Dimensional Areas to stop it!" Unlocked: Clear Mission 9 Character: Forsythia Upgrades Applied: Chaos Drives On Radio: Miki Mission: Deactivate all five of Team Plasma's Dimensional Areas. Detail: When you begin, Forsythia notices a large Team Plasma helicopter fly toward the Radical Highway portion, with a strange device in tow. Miki is on the hand radio and talks about a bad experience she once had with a Team Plasma helicopter, and asks that you find and destroy just what that helicopter's carrying and anything else that looks like it. It turns out that Team Plasma has installed some of their cyberspace technology along the highway, mainly Dimensional Areas, and they're causing an endless surge of their digital robots to swarm the city! You're going through the Radical Highway portion of the stage, with Porygon2 Troopers of all tiers appearing from all over, being generated by Dimensional Generators creating the Dimensional Areas. You'll need to destroy the generators in order to shut down the Dimensional Areas and the robot surge. When you reach a Dimensional Area, you'll have to boost in order to pass through the barrier and get inside. Next up, you have to attack the console in the center of the area to bring down the Dimensional Area while Porygon2 Troopers frequently appear around you. Once that's done, move onto the next one. One Dimensional Area encompasses the mall-like area you go through at one point, and another barrier you'll go through while running down the side of the Speed Highway-like building. There are 5 Dimensional Areas in total, and once all 5 have been deactivated, the mission is clear. Challenge Mode: Each Dimensional Generator console is now locked in a Plasma Cage, and you'll have to defeat various Team Plasma robots besides Porygon2 Troopers within the Dimensional Areas to open them. The final cage is linked to a Plasma Soldier and Mega Magnezone, making things very harrowing. Music Note: A Sonic Generations remix of the Lethal Highway theme from Shadow the Hedgehog plays in the background for this mission. Special Note: The sky and lighting for this mission is early morning.

ICE METROPOLIS Mission 10: "This is the perfect place to practice your snowboarding skills! Give it a shot and you might even perform a 1080!" Unlocked: From Start Character: Choice (Single Player only) Upgrades Applied: None On Radio: Omochao Mission: Practice your snowboarding skills. Detail: For this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a long slope that has two halves to it, the left half being a half pipe, and the right half being a series of large ramps. This is a place where you can practice your snowboarding skills to your heart's content. You start at a large gate at the top of the slope and at the bottom of the slope is another gate, which if you pass through, you'll be teleported back to the top gate. If you're not already aware of it, you can perform tricks when on your snowboard normally in this stage (tricks such as 180's, 360's, 540's, and so forth) to gain points. Here, the "Exit" option on the menu has been replaced by "Retire"; selecting it will teleport you out of the mission, applying the "clear" status if it hasn't already. Also note that you can't take actual damage or fall out of the stage, so the mission is "cleared" upon selecting "Retire". Challenge Mode: You must now score 50,000 points within 5:00, something that requires you to pull off a number of 1080's or else you fail the mission. Music Note: A remix of "Call Me" from 1080 Snowboarding plays in the background for this mission.
Mission SP2: "Those Delibird Bombers are patrolling the place! Try to get by them without being seen!" Unlocked: Clear Mission SP1 Character: Classic Sonic Upgrades Applied: N/A On Radio: Omochao Mission: Reach the Goal Post within 5:00. Detail: In this mission, you're put into a place that is never visited normally in the stage, a series of pathways and platforms, including two tours through buildings. For this mission, you're playing as Classic Sonic, who must hit switches to activate platforms and deactivate barriers (like a Classic Sonic mission for Chemical Plant in Sonic Generations), but he must also get by Delibird Bombers equipped with 3D holo scanners. If one catches you, an Articuno-shaped jet will teleport in above you and start dropping spiked ice balls that explode upon impact, sending ice shards in eight directions, and also launch ice clusters that form puddles on the ground, which can freeze you. It'll disappear after 15 seconds and can be destroyed by a bunch of attacks before it leaves, but even if that is accomplished, getting caught by another Delibird Bomber will only cause another Articuno Jet to teleport in. There are other ice-based Team Rocket robots to watch out for in this mission as well, and also foes like Cloyster Shells, Frost-form Rotom Generators, Beartic Fighters, and Glices. Once you spin the Goal Post, the mission is cleared. Challenge Mode: The time is reduced to 4:00 and getting caught by a Delibird Bomber causes you to fail the mission. Music Note: A Sonic Generations Classic remix of Chill Man's stage theme from Mega Man 10 plays in the background for this mission.
