Here are the specifics of each character's Pokémon and attacks (most attacks do damage even if it's not specifically designed for offense, such attacks are listed as "damaging"; attacks that don't do damage are listed as "nondamaging"):
Note: These are of course not all the characters playable in the game. These are just some of the dozens and dozens of characters in the game.
Ash: Pikachu's Volt Tackle, Hawlucha's Flying Press, Froakie's Water Pulse, Charizard's* Flamethrower (Normal) or Flare Blitz (Mega X)
* Note: Charizard isn't attainable until after clearing Episode C, from where you'll then be able to exchange Hawlucha for Charizard when talking to Prof. Oak at the Luminose City Pokémon Center. He'll send Charizard over in exchange for Hawlucha. You'll be able to switch back to Hawlucha at any time afterwards by talking to Prof. Oak.
-Volt Tackle: Melee/Damaging/Attack/Electric. Used for offense. User suffers recoil. May paralyze a target.
-Flying Press: Melee/Damaging/Attack/Fighting-Flying. Used for offense. Counts as both a Fighting-type and Flying-type attack.
-Water Pulse: Ranged/Damaging/Support/Water. Used to disorient enemies. (Power and speed increases underwater.) (Can't be used under lava.)
-Flamethrower: Ranged/Damaging/Attack/Fire. Used to clear certain obstacles. Small chance for burn. (Power increases under lava.) (Can't be used underwater.)
-Flare Blitz: Melee/Damaging/Attack/Fire. Used for offense. User suffers recoil. (Power increases under lava.) (Hits as a Normal-type move underwater.)
Serena: Fennekin's Flamethrower, Pancham's Parting Shot, Espurr's Psychic
-Flamethrower: Ranged/Damaging/Attack/Fire. Used to clear certain obstacles. Small chance for burn. (Power increases under lava.) (Can't be used underwater.)
-Parting Shot: Ranged/Nondamaging/Support/Dark: Used to lower foe's melee and ranged attack power, but user turns around after attack. (Air meter depletes faster underwater.)
-Psychic: Ranged/Damaging/Support/Psychic. Used for moving obstacles.
Clemont: Heilolisk's Parabolic Charge, Chespin's Bullet Seed, Ampharos's* Volt Switch (Normal) or Outrage (Mega) (May substitute second Pokémon with Clemontic Gear)
* Note: Ampharos isn't attainable until after clearing Episode C, from where you'll then be able to exchange Chespin for Ampharos when talking to Clembot at the Luminose City Gym. It'll give you Ampharos in exchange for Chespin. You'll be able to switch back to Chespin at any time afterwards by talking to Clembot.
-Parabolic Charge: Ranged/Damaging/Support/Electric. Used for HP recovery. HP Recovery depends on number of foes hit by attack.
-Bullet Seed: Ranged/Damaging/Attack/Grass. Fires 2-5 shots (usually 3) with one button press. Used for offense. (Range and projectile speed decrease underwater or under lava.)
-Volt Switch: Ranged/Damaging/Attack/Electric. Used for offense, but user turns around after strike.
-Outrage: Melee/Damaging/Support/Dragon. Used for clearing obstacles.
-Clemontic Gear: When this action is used, Clemont will use his Clemontic Gear to scale walls. He can even go onto ceilings. Pressing the action button will cause Clemont to let go. Note that some walls and ceilings can't be climbed.
Bonnie: Dedenne's Play Rough, Espurr's Psybeam, Pichu's Charge Beam
-Play Rough: Melee/Damaging/Attack/Fairy. Used for offense. May lower foe's power.
-Psybeam: Ranged/Damaging/Support/Psychic. Used to disorient enemies.
-Charge Beam: Ranged/Damaging/Support/Electric. Used to temporarily increase user's Power. Short range.

Increases power of Water-type attacks, decreases power of Fire-type attacks and Solarbeam, makes Thunder a ranged homing attack, decreases firing rate for Solarbeam, decreases HP recovered by Morning Sun, Synthesis, and Moonlight, and prevents Selfdestruct and Explosion. If you have Arceus equipped, if you're using a DS, 3DS, 2DS, or a Wii U GamePad as a controller, a menu for all 17 Plates appears on the screen and you can select from any one and change Arceus's type to that of the selected Plate. This also changes the type of Judgement to that type. At any time, you may select "No Plate" to go back to Normal-type. You can also use Select to cycle through the Plate options.

The Drive Genesect has and thus the type of Techno Blast is chosen at random at the start of the match.
Genesect will always be shiny (red in this case).
If you have Arceus equipped, if you're using a DS, 3DS, 2DS, or a Wii U GamePad as a controller, a menu for all 17 Plates appears on the screen and you can select from any one and change Arceus's type to that of the selected Plate. This also changes the type of Judgement to that type. At any time, you may select "No Plate" to go back to Normal-type. You can also use Select to cycle through the Plate options.
