TIME CRYSTALS: Time Crystals are a new feature in Pokémon Peace Squad: Crystal Freeze. When the Megime Empire disappeared a century prior, the Time Crystals emerged, which contain the power of time travel. Upon finding a Time Crystal in a stage, by using the action button, you'll be able to go back in time to 100 years prior. The stage itself tends to be much different than it is in the Present, and even some of the objectives may be different to reflect the new surroundings. Enemies, both human and robotic, are still found in the stage (the former still needed to be defeated to clear the stage). In the Past version of the stage, you can find what is called an Enemy Capsule, which brings in foes both human and robotic from the Present. Destroying it will remove all robotic foes from the Present, but it's not necessary to clear the stage, although you'll get something in return for doing it in every stage possible.
Time Crystals in the Present are teal in color while ones in the Past are violet in color, indicating which direction in time they'll send you in. When in the Past, there are things you can do to the stage environment that will affect the stage in the Present. For example, if you hit a switch that fills a basin with water in the Past, then in that same area in the Present, there may be a lake; depositing a seed in an area of soil in the Past can mean that in the Present, there is a large flower that you can bounce up on or use to cross over a gap. Note that in some cases, you may need to be in a specific time period in order to progress further into the stage. In these cases, a Time Crystal will be provided for you in order to go to where you need to go. In addition, some Stage 1's in an Episode may require you to be in a specific time period in order to reach that stage's secret exit (and thus unlock that Episode's Stage E).
