Act 1 Objectives: -Sprint along the small roads -Defeat the Team Skull guards -Go through the park -Reach Yokohama Station Act 2 Objectives: -Head through the shopping district -Defeat the Team Skull Grunts -Destroy the Vikavolt Jet -Head through the Goal Gate
Voice Notes: Samson Oak and RotomDex use their voices from the anime. The Team Skull guards and Grunts use generic voices. Background Music: A remix of the Intro Stage theme from Mega Man 7 plays throughout the stage. When fighting the Vikavolt Jet, the midboss music from Freedom Planet 2 plays.
Welcome to Yokohama District, a location reminiscent of Japanese suburban towns like those you would see in many slice of life anime. From the houses to convenience stores to shops to Yokohama Station, it's a nice place to visit, or would be if it weren't for the fact that Team Skull, a villainous organization known for causing trouble, has taken the whole place over. Having been called into action, the Pokémon Peace Squad is here to take back the town. Navigation through the level has similarities to City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2 as you make your way along the streets of the town, taking down Team Skull guards and robots along the way. At one point, you'll head through a small park and eventually reach Yokohama District's famous train station. Head through it to enter the second act of the stage.
The second act of the stage takes place in the town's busier shopping area, where taller buildings line the streets. Here, there's a bunch of traffic that you need to be careful of, since it's possible to get hit by a car and take damage. Here, you'll encounter Team Skull Grunts that must be defeated all the same. As you near the end of the stage, a robotic jet in the shape of a Vikavolt will come down, piloted by a Team Skull Grunt. You'll have to bring it down to advance, and it'll launch gunfire, laser blasts, and charge at you super-fast. Once it's brought down, you can head down the road to the Goal Gate. Pass through to clear the stage.

Crisis Boulevard Description: "A mysterious mass of interdimensional creatures have invaded Yokohama District. Exactly what are these things and why are they here?" Act 1 Objectives: -Rush through the destroyed town -Encounter the mysterious creatures -Defeat Sho (if he appears) Act 2 Objectives: -Race through downtown -Cross the contaminated water -Defeat the giant jellyfish creature
Voice Notes: Samson Oak, RotomDex, and Sho use their voices from the anime. Background Music: The Sunset Heights stage theme from Sonic Forces plays throughout the first act of the stage. The Park Avenue stage theme from the same game plays throughout the second act of the stage. When fighting Sho, a remix of the Trainer battle theme from Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow plays. When fighting the giant jellyfish creature, the Ultra Beast theme from Pokémon Sun and Moon plays.
While the chosen character was busy taking down Team Skull, a giant portal has suddenly appeared in the sky, and from it drop a large number of strange beasts of various shapes and sizes, which promptly start raining destruction throughout Yokohama District! As the sky darkens, it looks as though taking on Team Skull will have to wait. Navigation through this stage is similar to Park Avenue in Sonic Forces, with the city being ravaged these unknown creatures. The ones you'll come across directly resemble glass jellyfish, feminine roaches, tree-like circuits, and paper-like blades. The ones only seen in the distance resemble bulging mosquitoes, flying statues, and massive devourers. As you near Yokohama Station again, you might come across a Pokémon Trainer named Sho (from Episode 542: Pika and Goliath), who reveals that he spent a lot of time in Prison Island X before Team Skull broke him out, deciding to join up with them after they gave him a new Raichu (an Alolan Raichu). If you encounter him (it depends on who you're playing as) you'll have to fight him to progress. After heading through Yokohama Station, you'll go to the second act of the stage.
The second act of the stage takes place in downtown Yokohama, where the damage to the city continues. You're tasked with finding the source of these strange creatures, which is found at the edge of town. In addition to the unknown beasts, some Team Skull robots are also strewn about, having been abandoned by their human partners and some of them having been already destroyed by the aforementioned creatures. As you exit the town, you'll come across an area of orange-colored water, which happens to be contaminated, meaning you'll take damage while you're in it. After going through a short fiery area, you'll come across a gigantic version of the jellyfish-like beasts from earlier, and will have to battle it. Once it's defeated, the stage will have been cleared.

Skull School Description: "A high school in Yokohama District that Team Skull has turned into their base. It's time to liberate the town from them once and for all!" Act 1 Objectives: -Explore the high school -Defeat the Team Skull Grunts -Defeat Gladion -Head onto the roof Act 2 Objectives: -Go along the roof -Defeat the Team Skull Grunts -Race along the track -Defeat Plumeria -Head through the back door -Go into the principal's office
Voice Notes: Samson Oak, RotomDex, and Gladion use their voices from the anime. Guzma and Plumeria use original castings for their voices. Background Music: The Trap Hideout 1 theme Freedom Planet plays throughout the first act of the stage. The Trap Hideout 2 theme from the same game plays during the second act of the stage. When fighting Gladion, Gladion's theme from Pokémon Sun and Moon plays. When fighting Plumeria, the Team Skull Admin theme from the same game plays.
In the wake of the attack by unknown extradimensional beasts, the chosen character has made his or her way to Yokohama High School, which also happens to be Team Skull's current base. As it turns out, Team Skull has barricaded themselves in here during the attack. The layout of this stage happens to resemble a Japanese-style high school, and you'll be making your way through its halls, classrooms, and more. However, Team Skull has set up laser barriers that make navigation of the school much more difficult. As you go through the school, you'll have to defeat any Team Skull Grunts (who have wasted no time defacing the place) you come across and hit switches to deactivate lasers. You'll end up crossing through some areas multiple times during the trek, all while Team Skull's leader, Guzma, taunts you on the school's PA. You'll eventually near the roof, where Gladion, Team Skull's enforcer, and a mysterious kid, awaits. You'll have to defeat him to progress, but he says he hopes to see you again before you head onto the roof of the school for the second act of the stage.
The stage's second act has you head outside the school and towards its back in order to reach the way to the principal's office. Laser barriers make getting through the place complicated once again. After making your way along the roof, including its garden, you'll be able to drop down and make your way towards the ground, where you'll have to take down Team Skull Grunts on motorbikes as you race along the school's track. After taking them down, Plumeria, a Team Skull Admin, appears, upset that you've hurt her underlings, and you'll have to battle her. Once she's defeated, you'll have to deal with areas such as the school's soccer field and swimming pool before heading through the back door and through the gymnasium. After that, a few more halls and stairways should land you at the door to the principal's office. Head through the door to clear the stage.

BOSS STAGE: Skull Crusher (Guzma Battle) Voice Notes: Samson Oak and RotomDex use their voices from the anime. Guzma uses an original casting for his voice. Music Notes: The Major Boss Battle theme from Freedom Planet 2 plays during the battle.
As it turns out, Guzma has a trump card for you just in case you've made it to him, and has a massive Golisopod-like robot come and take him so he can make his escape. The first part of the battle takes place on the roof of the school (with the lasers removed), where the craft will jump around, creating holes in the roof, and launch its claws at you, which leaves Guzma open to attack, so go for the thingypit before the claw comes back to him. Eventually, Guzma, will start to make a getaway and you'll chase him through the devastated city as he knocks cars your way and eventually jumps onto a moving out of control train, which you also jump onto. This time, Guzma will charge your way at times, his jumps bend the train out of shape, and you must send the claws fired at you back to him to make him vulnerable. After taking more damage, Guzma jumps off the train at Yokohama Station and starts racing through a suburban area, you in hot pursuit, but early on, he'll jump behind you and start chasing you. Eventually, you'll reach the park, where the battle commences. This time, Guzma will execute rocket jumps that will send him really high and create shockwaves upon landing. You must send both claws back to Guzma to knock him over this time, but eventually, you'll take him and the Skull Crusher down.
