A game is not a game without controls in order to get through it. Here below is a list on all the controls of the game and also some info for when on the go in a stage.
Wristrap: Move the character
Control Pad: Look up and down/Strafe left and right
A Button: Jump/Homing attack
B Button: Punch
Y Button: Grab obstacle
X Button: Defense/Action button (see Actions)
L Button: Pokémon Action 1
R Button: Pokémon Action 2/Alternate action
Select: Switch between Tate & Liza (Tate & Liza only)
Start: Pause the game
Select is available only to those playing with Tate & Liza. This action will allow you to switch from Tate to Liza and vice versa (the other will follow). (Pokémon actions don't differ between the two, and the two are pretty much identical in control scheme and statistics, except that Tate's slightly faster while Liza's slightly stronger.)
Liza, Sonrisa, Duplica, and Samantha only have Pokémon actions on L. Those characters have alternate R actions that activate when the button is pressed. They happen to be quite useful.
When you press start to pause the game, a menu will come in the center of the bottom screen with these options. “Continue” allows you to keep playing the game from there. “Restart” sends you back to the start of the stage with a clean slate, but a life lost. “Quit” will takes you back to the main menu. “Objectives” brings up the list of objectives for the stage you’re playing, with squares to the left indicating which objectives have been completed (denoted in green). You can also contact the radioman by A to have him repeat the last hint.
There is also a “Stats” option when you pause the game. When you select this, you’ll get a small screen that depicts the statistics of the character that you’re using to complete the stage. The screen happens to give detailed information on the character, consisting of name, age, height, weight, hair color, eye color, and even the person’s blood type. The character’s stats are also displayed here, also including the bonuses that he or she has. You can also select the character’s Pokémon and actions in order to know what attacks they are capable of doing. After checking out the character, you can press “Back” at the bottom of the screen to go back to the pause screen.
