======================================================================= [------------------------------GREEN HILL-----------------------------] ======================================================================= It’s now time to begin Episode 3 on the game! Anyway, you’ll notice this stage to look quite familiar. It turns out to be Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1 the way it was recreated in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle! In addition to the recreation, certain objects such as totem poles and flowers have been given some extra 3D rendering and depth so they don’t look flat like before. Now for the objectives. Team Flora has taken up residence in this classic area and you have to take out any presence of them here. On top of that, you have only ten minutes to do just that, so you better get moving! From where you start, jump up to collect three rings and head forward until you reach the first ledge with a Potion to collect and a Motobug to watch out for. Head even further until you reach a Buzzbomber and an X Speed to collect. Also, Duplica (and only Duplica) can even hijack one of the Buzzbombers and take some shortcuts! For the controls, the wriststrap moves, Control Pad Up ascends, Control Pad Down descends, L fires a stinger, and R dismounts. You’ll then come to a bridge with a Chopper jumping over it, so be careful. Now this is where things get interesting. After the bridge, you’ll come face to face with your first Team Flora Grunt (M16). Defeat him and jump into the second tree from the bridge for an X Defense. Now here happen to be two more Flora guards (M16) to defeat and a Flora Sign on the edge of the path that you’ll need to destroy. You’ll reach some more rings and a half-loop next. Run up it and on the upper ledge, you’ll see a Crabmeat, but suddenly, two other robots drop down behind it and fire needles at it, destroying it. These are Cacturne Sentries (1), Team Flora’s most common robot. Since you don’t have to destroy any of the robots in this stage to complete the mission, you may pass them and jump to the next ledge with another Crabmeat. One more ledge after this Crabmeat leads you to ledge with a purple rock and a bridge with Choppers jumping over it. After the bridge, two more Flora guards (M16) stand waiting for you, one on another purple rock. Defeat all three of them and collect two rings on top of the rock, then jump onto the next ledge. Here, you’ll notice a group of sunflowers that seem harmless, but three of them are actually another kind of Team Flora robot in disguise, a Sunflora Sawblade (1). These robots are immune to most attacks and throw large saws your way. To defeat them, hit the saws with an attack of your own and they’ll slam right into the robot, destroying it. For now, just pass them and some more Buzzbombers. Collect some more rings leading to a yellow spring and use it to bounce up to a ledge. Quickly jump off it because it crumbles and move forward onto a solid ledge. There’s a Flora Sign to your left to destroy and two Cacturne Sentries (1) will drop onto two purple rocks along with a Flora Grunt (M16) that will ambush you. Defeat them and avoid more Buzzbombers before jumping onto the lower purple rock and from there, jump forward, but the ground here will crumble, so jump again. Climb up the ledges while dodging three more Sunflora Sawblades (1) until you reach a checkpoint. There are moving platforms above the checkpoint, so jump onto the lower one, and then jump to the higher one, and then jump to the ledge with a Potion on it, but watch out for another Buzzbomber. Jump to the next platform to the right and then jump again to the next one. The platforms fall here, so don’t stop. You’ll reach a platform with an X Defense on it. If you fell here, run forward fast enough to run onto the loop. Then from the ground or the top of the loop, jump to an upward moving platform that will take you to a platform that moves horizontally. This one leads to a ledge with a long row of rings on it. However, two more Flora guards (SR) will ambush you here, so return the favor, then collect an X Speed that you’ll need. At the end of the ledge, there are falling platforms leading downward. Watch out, since a Sunflora Sawblade (1) will drop onto each platform. At the end, there is a moving platform and lots of rings float above it. Collect as much rings as you can here, the land on a ledge. Here, there’s another Flora Sign to destroy to your left and a Flora Grunt (SR) to defeat. There are two more ledges you must jump onto, each with another Flora guard (SR) to defeat. You’ll reach a purple rock next to a Chopper bridge and another field of sunflowers before it. Three of them will show themselves to be Sunflora Sawblades (1) and attack. Once you’re past the Choppers, jump to the lower ledge and take out three more Flora guards (3 M16, 1 SR) You’ll reach a ledge with a Potion on it, so collect it and either jump down or land on a moving platform. Now make your way forward as you make your way through five more Flora Grunts (3 M16, 2 SR) and where the Goal Ring would normally, be, there happens to be a large sunflower garden and two Flora Signs, one of each side. Pick off the Signs, then run through the garden, since five of them happen to be Sunflora Sawblades (1). There is a checkpoint where the stage ended back in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Anyway, head towards a bridge with two Choppers jumping over it and you’ll come to a lower ledge with a purple stone on which there is a spring. Two more Flora guards (M16) assault you here, do defeat them and collect an X Speed nearby. Use the spring to collect some rings, then head to the left. You’ll come to another bridge with rings, two Choppers and a Buzzbomber over another sunflower field. Avoid two more Sunflora Sawblades (1) that pop out of the flowers. Fall down to the purple rock and take out another Flora Grunt (SR) on the slope until you reach another purple rock. Here, destroy a Flora Sign erected to your right and then head left. Jump onto a moving platform here, but if you fall, you can run up the half-loop ahead and jump onto a higher ledge, but be careful of spikes, since touching them takes away 10 of your health. Head to the right by the spikes and you’ll reach a bridge that accommodates three Choppers jumping over it. Remember to jump to avoid them and run towards rings leading downward. 3 Cacturne Sentries (1) will drop down along this path, so be careful. You’ll run through a series of loops next, with a curve before the final one and stop in front of a purple stone and three more Team Flora guards (2 M16, 1 SR). Defeat them and destroy another Flora Sign to the left of them. There’s a pit pf spikes here, and a moving platform that moves up and down in the center that will get you over them. Jump onto the platform, and then onto the ledge. To the left of where you land, there is another spike pit and two platforms over it. This time, avoid some Buzzbombers as you jump from platform to platform and reach the next ledge. There’s a checkpoint here and three Sunflora Sawblades (1) that you must be careful of. Next up, another spike pit and platforms. Get past this and jump onto the lower ledge. Avoid the Motobug and keep heading forward. There is also a Crabmeat and a Newtron. On the wall to the right where the Newtron hides happen to be four Flora Posters that you’ll need to deface, so get to it. You’ll eventually reach a purple rock with another bridge to the right. Here, three Flora guards (M16) and two Cacturne Sentries (1) drop down. Defeat them and jump over the bridge to avoid the Choppers. Run downward from here through some rings and another sunflower garden, which will result in three Sunflora Sawblades (1) attacking you. You’ll go into another half-loop and then land on a crumbling platform. From here, drop down to the ground and head to the left, being weary of some spikes and a Newtron ahead. The wall here also has a Flora Poster to deface, so don’t forget. You’ll reach the upper level of a series of ledges, but jump forward to a crumbling platform and then jump to near a horizontal red spring. Jump over the spring and onto the next ledge with a Potion and three Flora guards (SR) to defeat. There’s also a Flora Sign to the left here to destroy. From there, jump to the level to the left and you’ll reach a large sunflower garden with what looks like a square cage with sides composed of thick vines and a leaf canopy making up the top. This is a Flora Cage, and once you step into the garden, six Sunflora Sawblades (1) will attack. The center one actually happens to be a Tier 2, and destroying it destroys the whole lot. By doing so, the cage will open and you can collect two X Speeds inside of it. However, one to three little Sunkern-like drones may be inside the main Sunflora Sawblade’s body when it’s destroyed, so be careful. From there, run forward to a checkpoint and keep moving. Where you see a set of trees to your left, there’s an X Defense in the second one, so jump to get it. Head to a yellow spring in front of a pit of spikes and a moving platform, then bounce off the spring to a cliff with another spring that should send you up to a ledge with an X Speed on it. From there, drop down and head right and jump onto another spring. From there, you’ll reach a Motobug and also a Buzzbomber on a crumbling ledge. Jump over the ledge, but watch out for the enemies. Now head forward and collect three rings on a crumbling ledge and then jump onto a moving platform. When it’s at its highest, jump to the cliff to your left. Here, there are four Team Flora Grunts (2 M16, 2 SR) to defeat and a Flora Sign on the right side. There’s also happens to be a Buzzbomber here as well. Dodge it and drop down to the area below and collect some rings over the bridge. There’s no Choppers that jump this bridge, though. Move forward to reach another checkpoint situated in a sunflower garden. Three Sunflora Sawblades (2) will come out from the flowers here, so hit the checkpoint quickly. Instead of following the rings, jump onto a cliff behind the checkpoint and then use two moving platforms ahead. If the Sunflora Sawblades’ saws come up towards you, knock them back down to their owners. Jump to the first platform and then the second to reach a ledge. A cliff resides above the ledge, so wait until you are higher, then jump there to claim a Potion on it. Drop down to a bridge, but first deface the Flora Poster on the side of the cliff you were on, then cross over the bridge. Collect some more rings and jump onto a spring hidden behind a totem pole. Bounce off it and to the left to reach a ledge and another checkpoint. The first tree here contains a Potion and three Flora Grunts (SR) will attack you, so attack them right back. Now make your way forward until you reach a cliff where two Cacturne Sentries (2) drop down. There’s a moving platform you can jump onto, but another Cacturne Centry (1) will drop down onto it. Jump to a vertically moving platform where another Cacturne Sentry (1) will drop down. There’s still another moving platform to jump to and another Cacturne Sentry (1) to watch out for. There’s also a falling platform below the one that you’re on, so drop down to land on top of a loop and collect a 1UP that’s situated there. Drop down to find a Flora Sign to your right to destroy. Before heading forward, head backwards through the loop to find a sunflower garden from which five Sunflora Sawblades (2) gathered around a Flora Cage will pop out. Defeat all five to open the cage and collect the stage’s Full Restore. Now for the main path. There is a trail of rings and three Flora guards (2 SR, 1 M16) to defeat. You’ll come to another red spring. Jump over it and reach another checkpoint. On the wall here to the right is a Flora Sign to destroy and behind a waterfall that begins happens to be three Flora Posters to deface. Now for what’s up ahead. There’s a long, spiked log that rotates and a swinging platform above it. Use the platform to get over it and then follow the trail of rings going to the right. There’s another waterfall up ahead with a pair of Newtrons and Buzzbombers. There’s also a Flora Sign that’s behind the waterfall to destroy. Also watch out for a Crabmeat right after the waterfall. From there, head left to go down a slope and dispose of two more Flora guards (M16) and then reach some more moving platforms. Forget the platforms and instead boost down the slope through another sunflower garden, being careful not to run into one of four Sunflora Sawblades (2 Tier 1, 2 Tier 2) that will pop out. Perform a slide with the X Button to break through the wall, then collect three rings, take care of a Flora Sign to your right, and avoid a Buzzbomber. Watch out for a crumbling ledge ahead, as the spikes below will send you to your death. Jump onto the swinging platform and onto the cliff to your right. Watch out for some more Buzzbombers and then drop down and run through some more rings up a half-loop. Ina tree on the half-loop is a Potion and along this path are four more Flora guards (2 M16, 2 SR) and in the last tall tree before the final bridge is an X Defense. Cross the bridge and you’ll see what looks like a dense jungle out in the distance, one last Flora Sign to your left, and six Flora guards (3 M16, 3 SR) ready to fight you. Defeat them all and destroy the sign, then head forward. If you failed to make it to the jungle within ten minutes, the forest will catch fire, preventing you from entering, and you fail the mission. Anyway, head to where you fought Eggman back in Sonic 1, and Eggman will appear in one of his hovercrafts. Shortly after though, a stealth bomber bearing a “G” logo will come and kidnap him. After the craft crashes, you’ll be to head into the jungle, cross the Goal Gate, and complete the stage!

======================================================================= [-----------------------------AMAZON DENSE----------------------------] ======================================================================= Welcome to the jungle! Things will get a little tough here as you make your way through this stage! You’ll start on a small path going forward bordered by large trees and plants. Shortly after the start, three Team Flora Grunts (M16) drop down. Defeat them and then go down the hill. After the hill, the path makes a 45-degree right turn where you’ll come to a large, purple, plant. One touch of this plant and you’ll be come poisoned, sapping health until it reaches zero. Because of this, you can find a few Antidotes in this stage. Anyway, destroy the plant and continue forward, coming to two Sunflora Sawblades (1). Defeat them and you’ll head downhill once more. Along the way is your first Antidote. Use it if you’ve become poisoned and continue down the hill. The ground will level out here and there will be two Cacturne Sentries (1) waiting for you here. Destroy both of them and as the path ends, you’ll come to an area of purple-colored water. This water is poisonous and unlike poison plants, which just cause you to lose health steadily, one touch from poison water will instantly take a life from you! Simply jump the water here to land on a large, fallen log. Cross the log, defeating two more Flora Grunts (SR) and you’ll come to another solid path going upward. Head up it to find two Venomoth Drones (1). Home attack across them to reach a Potion above the ground. Where the ground levels off, there is a sharp left turn, but be careful as it may lead you straight into another poison plant! Get rid of it and defeat the lone Flora Grunt (AGL) behind it. Note that the guards can be poisoned by the plants too! If you stand behind a plant and a guard chases you, the guard will fall without you firing a shot! Anyway, keep going down the path and you’ll come to a cliff going down into the poison water below. Use two Venomoth Drones (1) hovering over the expanse to reach another path and the first checkpoint of the stage. Here, two more poison plants block the path. Destroy them and keep going forward. You’ll come to a spring. Use it to bounce to another spring on a large tree far ahead and that spring will bounce you to another tree to the right and you’ll land on a path wrapping around yet another large tree to the left of that one. Here, there are three more Flora guards (2 M16, 1 FB) to get rid of. After doing so, you’ll come to another poison plant near the tree. Destroy that one and further ahead there is a Sunflora Sawblade (2). Behind it is another poison plant neat the edge of the path. Destroy that one too. At the top of the path is a vine. If you remember these in Forest Highway, you can swing across these to safe ground. Swing across this one to reach another vine. From there you’ll swing to yet another vine going left. This last vine will put you on a tall spire sticking out of the toxic pool below. There’s a sturdy wood bridge that connects the spire to another path. As you cross the bridge, two more Flora guards (SR) drop down. Get rid of them and at the end of the bridge is another poison plant. Destroy it and a string of block plants hinders your progress. Get rid of them and 2 more Cacturne Sentries (1) that show themselves. After defeating the robots, you’ll reach a large, red raised conveyor structure spanning the width of the path. There’s also a gigantic saw moving back and forth on the conveyor. You’ll have to dash across the conveyor, dodging the saw, and each the other side. After passing the saw conveyor, you’ll see a checkpoint and a big shrub. If you can destroy it, you can take a shortcut through the jungle. On the normal path, keep going forward and the path will take a 45-degree left turn. Here, there are three Sunflora Sawblades (1). Defeat them and you’ll come to another cliff. There is a vine hanging over the poison water below. Jump to it and swing to another vine facing a 45-degree angle. Swing from this one to a large tree. You’ll land on a set of grate-like vines that go upward. Climb them and the vines will go left, down, left, far up, right, up, far left, up, far right, and up once more. There is a total of four Venomoth Drones (1) near the vines. The vines make a short left turn onto a platform sticking out of the tree. Here, an enemy you’ve haven’t seen yet, a Tropius Tank (1), resides. Defeat it to open the Flora Cage behind it and use the spring to bounce to a vine rail the goes downward and sets you on another path beyond the expanse of poison water. If you take the shortcut, you’ll go left where you’ll come to a Dash Panel pointing right as the path makes a sharp right turn. Step on it to cruise down the path across more Dash Panels. Along the way, you’ll pick up an X Attack and an X Speed. The path will turn right as you step on another Dash Panel pointing in that direction. Along more panels you’ll pick up an X Defense, a Potion, and an Antidote. At the end of the path, a set of Jump Ramps will boost you over the toxic liquid below and onto a vine rail. This rail cruises forward and makes a 45-degree right turn where you’ll come to a spring. This spring bounces you to the vine rail at the end of the main path. Back on another path, four Team Flora guards (2 M16, 1 SR, 1 AGL) drop down for a visit. Two of them drop down behind another poison plant, so they’ll very likely brush it and be taken out for you. Defeat the two already in front of the plant and destroy the plant as well. The path will make a 45-degree right turn with Dash Panels for speed. However, these panels will more likely send you into more poison plants along the path. Step by the panels and destroy all three plants. There are two Cacturne Sentires (2) keeping watch here as well. At the end of the path is a checkpoint. Cross it and use a spring to bounce over another poison pond and onto a massive red flower over the water. Here, there are four Sunflora Sawblades (1), each one on a separate petal, and a Venomoth Drone (2) hovering over the flower’s center. This one is equipped with a holo-scanner. If caught in the holo light, several Cacturne Sentries (2) drop down onto the flower. At the end of the right petal is another Jump Ramp. Use it to boost over more poison water and land on a large log sitting diagonally next to a wall, the back end going into the toxic water. Shortly after landing on the log, drop down the hole in front and Dash Panels on the inside of the log will boost you up it. Ignore the two Venomoth Drones (1) you pass by and as you boost out of the log, you’ll hit a set of springs on the wall and be bounced left onto another vine. Swing across it to a high-up path. Here, there are two Team Flora grunts (MC) to defeat and a gate of poison plants behind them. Get rid of everything here and the path will slope downward. At a stop down the hill are two big block plants. Get rid of them and you’ll cross another saw conveyor. After that, the path will go down once more. Watch out here, as the path goes straight down into more poison water! Use the spring at the path’s edge to bounce to a large tree. You’ll actually land on another path where there are rolling spike gates. Cross under them and defeat three more Flora Grunts (1 M16, 1 AGL, 1 FB). There is an Antidote and three poison plants ahead. After getting rid of the plants (save the Antidote for after the plants in case you get poisoned.), go forward past another saw conveyor until you’re at the base of the tree. A set of springs bounces you upward. You’ll land on a large platform on the side of the tree. Defeat two Sunflora Sawblades (2) to unlock another Flora Cage. Use the spring inside to bounce forward upward to another smaller platform. There is a poison plant here and another enemy known as an Exeggutor Totem (1). Unlike a normal Exeggutor, this robot’s faces are on the segments of its body. The “heads” are actually faceless bombs. You can attack the segments to shorten the Totem, but attacking the bombs destroys it instantly. Once this mech is out of the way, destroy the poison plant to reveal a spring. Use it to bounce up to another set of vines. The vines here go left, up, left, far down, left, far up, right, up, left, down, left, down, left, and far up once more. You’ll reach a spring at the top of the vines that will bounce you left to another platform. Here, defeat another Tropius Tank (1) and then destroy the poison plant near the tree. As it turns out, it was blocking a path inside the tree. The tree contains a small maze to navigate. Follow the five Team Flora Grunts (2 M16, 2 AGL, 1 FB) in the maze as you head through. In one dead-end corner is a 1UP. At the end of the maze, you’ll cross another wooden bridge. At the end of the bridge are a spire and a checkpoint. After the checkpoint, there is a log attached to vines. Cross the log and poison water below and you’ll come to another path. Here, you’ll encounter Gloom Mechs (1), which emit certain powders that can paralyze (red), poison (green), or disorient (blue). Defeat the six on this path (they use blue Sleep Powder) and you’ll come to a sharp left turn. Make the turn and you’ll come to a long slope going downward. Along the way, you’ll pass four Venomoth Drones (1) and go through some more block plants. At the bottom of the slope, you’ll reach three Flora guards (2 M16, 1 FB) in front of a gate of poison plants. Defeat them and then take care of the poison plants to reveal an Antidote and a Jump Ramp in front of more poison water. Boost off the ramp to soar over the water to another massive red flower in the toxic swamp. Here, there’s a Flora Cage on the opposite petal that you land on and must contend with six Gloom Mechs (Tier 1, use green Poisonpowder) along the other six petals and also a Tropius Tank (1) in the center of the flower. Once all enemies are defeated, the cage will open up to reveal a spring that will bounce you to the right to another tree. You’ll land on a path spiraling up the tree and will actually land on an Antidote for in case you got poisoned back on the flower. Now head up the tree as you defeat five Flora guards (2 M16, 2 FB, 1 AGL) along the way. At the top of the path, you must now jump platforms on the side of the tree while watching out for three Venomoth Drones (2), the last of which has a scanner that’ll bring in several Stun Spore, Poisonpowder, and Sleep Powder emitting Gloom Mechs (2) on the ledges if it catches you. Once you reach the top, there’s a vine that you’ll need to jump to and swing across to reach another vine and swing from there to a third vine and finally land on a vine rail as it slopes down to another bridge. You’ll have to watch out for an Exeggutor Totem (1) that drops down here and get past it to reach a trail of big block plants afterwards. You’ll be able to find items beneath some of the plants, more specifically, a Potion, an X Attack, an X Defense, an X Speed, a Gravity Scope, and an Antidote. After the plants, you’ll end up at another saw conveyor, but this time, there are two saws you have to watch out for. After the conveyor, you’ll reach a slope going down and four Cacturne Sentries (2) along the way. At the bottom of the slope, you’ll come to another body of poison water and must homing attack three Venomoth Drones to the left to reach another path. After landing on this path, pass by two Sunflora Sawblades (2) and make a 45-degree right turn. Along this path, you’ll find 3 poison plants that you’ll have to destroy before reaching a spring in front of a wall. Bounce up to the upper level and head along this path to find 5 more Flora guards (2 SR, 2 SG, 1 FB) to defeat and also a big shrub to the right. If you can destroy it, head right to find a 1UP on a ledge overlooking the poison swamp. On the main path, keep forward until you reach a 45-degree right turn with three more Gloom Mechs (Tier 1, use blue Sleep Powder) to watch out for. After them, the path slopes down past two poison plants you’ll need to destroy before reaching the bottom and from there, make a 45-degree right turn where you’ll reach a saw conveyor with two saws and a Venomoth Drone (2) over the saws. After getting by the saws, you’ll reach another checkpoint right before you bounce off a set of springs out towards the poison water. Before you splash to a toxic death, you’ll land on a vertical grate-like vine being supported by the tropical foliage. From where you land, head to the left to collect two Potions, then head to the right and make your way across the vines as they go forward, down, left, bend to the left, go up diagonally, level off, bend to the right, go left, and then go down from where you’ll reach a flappable gate. Flip to the other side and now shimmy across horizontal grates as they go forward, left, slope up, go right, slope far down, go left, left, right, slope up, and finally end after sloping down. Along the way, there are six Venomoth Drones (1) to watch out for. At the end of the grate vines, drop down to fall onto another massive red flower, where a Team Flora Grunt (2 M16, 2 SG, 2 AGL, 2 FB) awaits you on each petal. Defeat every single one of them and then use the Jump Ramp at the opposite end to boost to solid ground. Upon landing, there is a massive log right in front of you and three Cacturne Sentries (2). Get past them and enter the log. Amidst the spider webs in here are up to five poison plants you’ll need to destroy. Near the end of the log, three Flora guards (MC) will attack you, so defeat them and exit the log to find another one on an upward slope. In this one, Team Flora has installed laser fences that you’ll have to jump over and run under. Once you reach outside the log, the path levels out and you’ll have to jump over some more laser fences and past three Sunflora Sawblades (1) until you reach another saw conveyor with two saws. Get past it to reach a sharp left turn. Here happens to be another string of block plants. Beyond them is a group of poison plants. Get rid of all of them and where the path makes another 45-degree right turn, you’ll fight five Team Flora Grunts (2 M16, 2 SR, 1 MC). At the end of the path past a saw conveyor drops down another Exeggutor Totem (1). Defeat it to open a Flora Cage and use a spring to bounce upward. You’ll land on a vine. Use it to swing to a wide, half-pipe path going upward. Along the way are five more Gloom Mechs (Tier 1, use red Stun Spore) and Dash Panels. At the end of the path is a spring that will bounce you to a wooden bridge that’s connected to a large tree. Welcome to the treetops. At the tree platform at the bridge’s edge, defeat three Cacturne Sentries (1) and go left. Homing attack across a Venomoth Drone (2) and you’ll reach a path wrapping around the tree. Here, defeat three more Team Flora guards (2 M16, 1 FB) and a Sunflora Sawblade (2). At the end of the path is another group of poison plants. Destroy them and you’ll come to a vine rail. Grind across it and you’ll go a little upward where another platform awaits. Drop off here and defeat three Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use green Poisonpowder). A Flora Cage opens up to reveal a spring that bounces you upward. There is also a big shrub near the tree. Destroy it (if possible) and you can take a path going up the tree. On the normal path, the spring will bounce you to a vine. Swing across it to reach another vine around the bend. Swing from this one to reach another platform. Defeat a Tropius Tank (1) and a laser wall blocking a set of vines will drop. Climb the vines that go in this direction, up, right, far down, right, far up, left, up, left, up, far right, down, left, down, far right, far up, far left, and far up once more. There are a total of six Venomoth Drones (1) on this climb. At the top is a path that goes around the tree. On the other side is another big shrub. This shrub marks the end of the shortcut path. The shortcut simply consists of springs bouncing you up the tree, with an X Defense, an X Attack, an X Speed, and a 1UP, and drops you off on a platform inside the tree on the other end of the big shrub and a large red bomb to blow up the shrub if you’ve used Explosion. On the main path, bounce off the spring at the platform’s edge to go onto another vine rail. At the end of the vine rail you’ll have to jump onto a string of five Venomoth Drones (1). The robots go in an arc to the left. Along the way you can pick up a Potion and an Antidote. After the last Drone is a vine. Swing across it to a half-pipe path with Dash Panels lining it. The panels shoot you across the path as it curves to the right as is littered with as many as ten Gloom Mechs (Tier 1, 3 use Stun Spore, 3 use Poisonpowder, 4 use Sleep Powder). The path will enter a large log that goes upward. As you weave around large spider webs and three Sunflora Sawblades (2), you’ll come to a spring that bounces you out of the log and towards another large tree. You’ll reach a platform with some poison plants and three Flora guards (2 FB, 1 AGL) that you’ll need to defeat. Once they’re out of the way, you’ll have to head to the right and take a short spiraling path down to an entrance in the tree. Here, an Exeggutor Totem (1) drops down in front of a laser fence that you must destroy to drop the fence. Once inside the tree, you’ll enter a maze once again. Navigate this maze, picking up a Potion, an X Speed, and also the stage’s Full Restore locked in a Flora Cage. At the end of the maze, you’ll find a spring, but before using it, look to your left to find a Venomoth Drone (2) you can homing attack to reach an alcove in the tree with a switch. That switch opens the cage, but you’ll need the Venomoth Drone to get back. The spring sends you to more suspended vertical grate-like vines. Head right and then down for an Antidote and the head back and head left as the vines go left, up, right, bend to the right, go up, far left, far down, right, down, and then bend to the left, where a flappable gate resides to flip over to horizontal grates, which go forward, slope up, and go forward to another tree. Along the way, there are six Venomoth Drones (1) to watch out for. You’ll land on a platform with a set of poison plants and 3 Team Flora guards (SG). Defeat the latter and destroy the former to enter the tree. On the inside of the tree, there is a small tunnel that spirals downward. Go down the long path and defeat a total of five Cacturne Sentries (2) and destroy a total of four poison plants. At the end of the tunnel, you’ll reach a larger interior of the tree and continue down the path where four Sunflora Sawblades (1) attack. At the bottom of the path, you’ll hit a spring that will bounce you down the tree through a series of springs. You’ll then land on a large platform surrounded by a pool of poison water. Here, defeat six Flora guards (2 M16, 2 MC, 2 FB) to disable the laser fence that takes you out of the tree. The poison water goes down a small river outside the tree and you must use small platforms as stepping-stones over it. Shortly after exiting the tree, you’ll reach two strips of land on both sides of the toxic stream. Defeat a total of four Team Flora grunts (2 SR, 2 AGL), three Cacturne Sentries (2), three Sunflora Sawblades (2), and an Exeggutor Totem (1) and Tropius Tank (1) at the end of the path in front of a dark tunnel of foliage. By defeating all the enemies, a laser fence in front of the passage drops and you’ll be able to head through.

In the next section, you’ll dash out of the passage and over a poison waterfall. You’ll land on a checkpoint on a wooden bridge in front of a sprawling array of submerged ruins in the poison water, covered in thick grass and coated in thick vines. Cross the bridge and use the spring at the end to bounce up onto your first set of ruins. Here, there are four Team Flora Grunts (2 MC, 2 M16) you need to defeat and you can check behind a large group of wooden Flora crates for two Potions. Go to the end of the ruin and use a spring to bounce to another ruin ahead. Here, you’ll land on a path next to a large, tall, ruin wall to your left. There are about FOUR Exeggutor Totems (1) here you can either defeat or pass by. At the end of the path is a Venomoth Drone (1) that you can use to homing attack to another ruin. Here, there are more poison plants you must destroy and a Tropius Tank (1) that when destroyed, will open a Flora Cage that contains a spring to bounce you high onto a large ruin wall. Be careful here as there are a multitude of seven Sunflora Sawblades (1) that can knock you off the wall and into the poison water if you’re not careful. Defeat them and you’ll reach a turn in the wall. Here, there is a stack of steel Flora crates, but they’re not important right now. On this section of wall are three Team Flora guards (2 SR, 1 SG) to defeat. At the end of the wall is a vine you can use to swing across the poison lake in which these ancient ruins are slowly sinking into. You’ll swing to another vine pointing to the right in front of a two-walled area of ruins. Swing off this vine to land there. Here, there are as many as TWELVE Exeggutor Totems (1) lined up near the walls, eight you can see and four more beyond the left bend. There is also a lone Venomoth Drone (2) floating in the middle of the area. If you defeat it first, all the Exeggutor Totems will explode along with it, earning you MASSIVE points! Head left and you’ll notice there’s a part of wall missing from the right side. There is also a large laser wall at the edge of the set of ruins and a checkpoint. Wait for the lasers to go down and cross the checkpoint in front. Then jump to a spring on a nearby stone pillar.
The spring will bounce you to the right to a tree where another spring will bounce you to the right onto a vine. Swing across it to land on another ruin wall. Here, there are more poison plants lining the top of the wall. Destroy them and collect the Antidote at the end of the plants. Take a left turn and there is another saw conveyor that spans the wall. Cross it, minding the large saws that move across it, and you’ll come to another spring at the very edge of the wall. The spring will bounce you to a ruin platform above the poison water. Here, there are three large block ruins and three ancient switches. Push the ruins (much easier with an attack that is used for moving obstacles) onto the switches and a line of smaller platforms will rise out of the toxic pool to your right. Cross the platforms and you’ll come to another flat ruin near the water. Here, three Tropius Tanks (1) and four Team Flora guards (2 SR, 2 FB) must be defeated to open another Flora Cage on the other side of the ruin. There are also three Potions you can pick up. In the cage happens to be an ancient switch that will cause two large, rectangular platforms and several pillars to rise out of the poison muck ahead. As soon as you land on the newly risen ruins, 3 Cacturne Sentries (1) and 3 Sunflora Sawblades (2) will drop down onto the platform along with two posts that create a laser fence. Defeat all six robots to drop the lasers and jump to the next platform. Here, there are four poison plants and several block plants. Destroy the poisonous ones and also the smaller ones to reveal a few items in small holes. These items include an X Attack, two Potions, and an Antidote. To the left of the end of the platform is another vine. Jump to it and swing onto another large ruin wall. Here, cross another checkpoint, head right, and you’ll have to fight off five more Flora guards (2 M16, 2 MC, 1 FB). After they’re done, you’ll find a square ruin and an ancient switch. Push the ruin onto the switch and a line of stone pillars, followed by a few more ruins, will rise out of the poison water in the distance to your right.
Use the vine here to swing to another vine and then to the first ruin platform. Here, four posts will drop down and create a laser encasing. Then, four Team Flora grunts (2 AGL, 2 FB) will drop down onto the platform. Defeat them to make the lasers drop and use the spring on the pillar in front to bounce to a higher ruin to your left. On this platform, there is a big shrub and a couple big block plants as well as three Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use blue Sleep Powder). Defeat them and destroy the plants to uncover an X Defense, and a Potion. The big shrub hides a 1UP if you can destroy it. Use a spring at the end of the ruins to bounce to a stone arch below. Here, you’ll have to homing attack across three Venomoth Drones to reach a vine hanging from another tree. Use this vine to swing to another vine and swing from that one to land on a large raised ruin. Here, you’ll find a spring that will bounce you forward onto another ruin wall with another saw conveyor to get past. After it, you’ll reach a line of three Venomoth Drones (1) that you’ll need to home attack to reach a massive red flower near a set of multilevel ruin paths going to the right. On this flower, you’ll have to activate a switch placed randomly on one of the petals to open a Flora Cage in the middle of the flower. Also on each flower petal is a Sunflora Sawblade (1) to watch out for. Once you got the cage open, a spring inside will bounce you to the first level of the ruin paths. On this path, head right and defeat three more Flora guards (2 M16, a FB) until you reach a spring at the end to bounce to the next level. Now head in the opposite direction while avoiding three Cacturne Sentries (2) until you reach another spring. This one bounces you up to the top level of the ruins here and there are five poison plants you’ll need to destroy. At the end of the path, jump onto a vine in a treetop.
Swing from the vine to another vine over the toxic water and from there, swing to a ruin platform near the water’s edge. There happens to be another ancient switch here. Press it to cause a ruin bridge to rise out of the acidic lake to your right and cross the bridge. Along the way, five Flora guards (3 M16, 2 SG) will drop down, so defeat them and you’ll reach another flat ruin going left. There are some steel Flora crates in the upper-right hand corner with a Potion on top to collect. Once you’ve got it, head left and you’ll have to jump stone arches as they ascend over the poison water. At the top arch, you’ll find an ancient switch that when pressed, will lower the arch into the water, but cause a large stairway-like ruin rise out instead. You’ll need to get off the arch since it will sink all the way into the poison. Jump up the tiers until you reach the top and find a set of springs to send you to a series of wooden bridges over the water. The bridges here are multilevel and set up like a maze. You’ll cross a checkpoint on the first bridge and must navigate the maze to find six Flora Grunts (3 SG, 2 MC, 1 AGL) while also watching out for two Sunflora Sawblades (2), two Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use red Stun Spore) and two Exeggutor Totems (1). Once you defeated all the guards and reach the end of the maze on the second level, you’ll find a vine you can use to swing to the left to another vine and from there, swing to another massive red flower in the poison liquid. This time, there is a scanner-equipped Venomoth Drone (2) that quickly flies around over the flower and a Flora Cage in the middle that will only open up when it is defeated. If caught in the scanner, you’ll also have to defeat several Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use blue Sleep Powder) and Sunflora Sawblades (2) to open the cage, which contains a spring bouncing you up to a grate-like vine.
When you land on the vines, head down for a Potion and an Antidote, then head back up and climb to the right as the grates go right, down, right, far up, bend to the left, go left, and go up to a flappable gate to swap to the other side, where you’ll not shimmy across horizontal grates as they go forward, right, right, slope downward, go left, left, slope far up, go right, left, slope far down, and go left one more. From here, drop down onto a high ruin wall with a checkpoint and three Flora guards (M16) to defeat. At the end of the wall, jump to a ruin platform. Here, there are three more movable ruins and ancient switches to go with them. Push the ruins onto the switches and a large stone bridge will rise out of the water. Along the way, four Team Flora guards (2 SR, 2 FB) and four Cacturne Sentries (2) will drop down. At the end of the wall, jump to another raised platform and press the ancient switch in the middle. Small platforms will rise out of the poison water to your right, but they will only stay up for 45 seconds before sinking back into the toxic water. Jump across them quickly, avoiding the three Venomoth Drones (2) along the way. As you make a right turn across the platforms, you’ll come to a solid ruin with two saw conveyors spanning the width of the ruin. Run across them and cross more temporary ruins ahead until you reach a spring on the last platform. This spring will bounce you to solid ground at the edge of the lake. You’ll find a path going under ruin arches and lined with stone pillars. Just run across lines of Dash Panels as the path goes up and down until you reach the Goal Gate in front of a large cave opening. Congratulations, you have finally completed this stage!

======================================================================= [------------------------------FLORA CAVE-----------------------------] ======================================================================= You start the stage by entering a green, mossy tunnel, littered with bushes and flora. As the tunnel slopes downward, you’ll run into two Team Flora grunts. Defeat them and as the tunnel slopes back up, you will come face to face with two Sunflora Sawblades (1). Knock their blades back to them to defeat them and move on. You’ll eventually come to a door crisscrossed in thick vines and am open flower in the middle. A Cacturne Sentry (2) will drop down here. Defeat it and the vines will be sucked into the flower, which closes, and the door will open. Head on through and you’ll now be in a larger room with trees on both sides of the path. Here, there are three female Team Flora Grunts, but they won’t fight you since they don’t have orders to do so. Just pass by them and two more male Grunts will drop down. Defeat them quickly (they have Flora Railguns) and the Flora Cage behind them will open up. Use the spring inside to bounce onto the tree platform above, defeat two Cacturne Sentries (2), and head through another door. This tunnel slopes downward while going left. There are laser fences in this tunnel as well as four Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use red Stun Spore). Jump over the first fence, move under the second, and jump in the middle of the third. At the end of the tunnel is a vine-locked door. Defeat four more Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use blue Sleep Powder) to open it. You’ll come to a large, floorless, chamber with large flower platforms being held up by thick stem vines. Use the spring after going through the doorway to bounce to the first flower. Defeat another Flora grunt here (AGL) (all grunts that fight you are male) and use the next spring to bounce to the next flower. Here, an Exeggutor Totem (1) drops down. If you remember these from Amazon Dense, hit the bomb heads on top to quickly defeat the robot for more points instead of hitting each of the faced segments. You’ll see a vine in front of you. Jump onto it and let go when it swings you up to reach another flower. Here, there are three Venomoth Drones (1) to the left you’ll need to homing attack over to reach the next flower. Here, ignore the female Flora Grunt (defeating them take points away from you) and swing over the vine to the right of her to reach a balcony with a door to go through. You’ll enter a massive chamber flooded with poison water (like back in Amazon Dense). There are also red flowers over the water held up by wrapping vines. These flowers snap shut periodically. If you’re on the flower when it does this, you’ll take 20 damage, so be careful. When the time is right, jump to the first flower in front and quickly jump to the one in front of it to reach a solid platform. Defeat a Sunflora Swablade (2) here, then jump to the flower to your right when it opens up. Jump to the flower beyond it and them to the next one to your left to reach another solid platform. Here, defeat 2 Flora Grunts (1 AGL, 1 w/shield) and there will be a string of vines behind them. Jump onto the first and swing to the second, then the third, which goes left, the fourth, the fifth, which goes right, and the sixth to reach a piece of land near the wall. Here, there are flowers lining up on the wall near the edge of the ground. Defeat 3 Sunflora Sawblades (1) and the flowers will open up, and a grid of vines will quickly sprout and move across the wall. You can climb these like grates. Move to the right across them and then they will go upward, right, down, left, down, far right, and then up until you reach another piece of solid ground. Here, defeat another Exeggutor Totem (1) and flowers on a metal arch to your right will open up, creating a horizontal grid of vines for you to climb under. Cross the vines, which will then go far left, slope down, go right, left, right, slope far up, go forward, right, right, slope down, go forward, far left, far right, and then left once more. Along the way, there are a total of seven Venomoth Drones (1) hovering near the vines. At the end of the vines, there is a solid platform and two sets of snapping flowers to the right and left of it. The right ones are red like earlier in the chamber, the ones to the left are magenta and work differently. These ones stay open, but instantly snap down if anyone that’s not a Grass-trainer touches them. In other words, only Erika, Jason, Sonrisa, and Milane can cross these flowers. The red flowers have a scanner-equipped Venomoth Drone (2) over them. Getting caught in the scanner will not only teleport in several more Venomoth Drones (2), but cause the flowers to snap shut automatically, damaging you. The magenta flowers have a 1UP over them, but both flower paths are of equal length, so the left path isn’t a shortcut. At the end of either path, jump forward left (if right) or forward right (if left) to grab onto another set of vines. Swing from them to another vine and then another. Here, you’ll land on solid ground with a door in front. Enter them to emerge in a long room going right. It may seem bare, except for bushes and about five Flora grunts, three male (1 M16, 1 FT, 1 w/shield), two female, but go forward a little, and large vine spikes will erupt from the ground, blocking you. You have entered a vine maze. The vine spikes will shoot up when you go near them. Navigate the maze to defeat the 3 male Flora Grunts and also defeat 3 Sunflora Sawblades (2) before reaching the vine-locked door to the right. Beyond the door is a small lab area with a green tiled floor and large computer screens in the walls all around. There are a few mainframes lining the right and left walls, plus a large glass storage chamber to your right and a big, vertical computer screen to your left. There is also a floating TV in here as well in the middle, as well as four Team Flora grunts (2 SG, 2 FB) to fight and three female Flora Grunts. You may check the TV, and what it asks you is “ENTER YOUR ID NUMBER. HAND FINGERPRINT SCAN NEEDED FOR IDENTIFICATION. PRESS HAND TO SCREEN? YES/NO.” If you say yes, it’ll just say “UNAUTHORIZED PERSON. FLORA DATABASE LOCKED.” Anyway, head through the doorway to enter a downward sloping hall with six Team Flora Grunts (2 MC, 1 w/shield, 3 female) and laser fences. Slide under the first (use X when near it), jump the second, and jump through the middle of the third. After going through the doorway. You’ll emerge in what looks like a large forest. Your character will look up in the area and will see an assortment of treetop huts, platforms, and walkways high above, and a large, wide tree in the center, surrounded by a pool of poison water. You can defeat a total of three Cacturne Sentries (2), three Sunflora Sawblades (2), and two Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use blue Sleep Powder) on the ground for points and use green, floating platforms with the Team Flora symbol on them to cross over the water to a strip of land surrounding the large tree for a 1UP. Forward left from where you enter the area is a spring. Use it to bounce to a tree platform with another spring and a Venomoth Drone (2) nearby. Use the spring here to bounce upward to another tree platform. Here, you’ll have to homing attack a Venomoth Drone (2) (it regenerates after a minute) to reach the platform and bounce up to one last tree platform and avoid a scanner-equipped Venomoth Drone (2). Getting caught by it will usher in about four Cacturne Sentries (3) on the platform. Bounce up the last spring and you’ll land on a treetop walkway going right. Here, defeat two Team Flora Grunts (FT) to make a large vine wall in the front spanning beyond the walkway get sucked back into the flowers on the sides. After the vine wall, you’ll have your first encounter with a Killer Plant (1), which drops down from above and hangs from there. Defeat it from a distance and you’ll reach a tree with a platform wrapping around it. Head left here and defeat three Cacturne Sentries (2) to reach a spring at the end of the walkway. Use it to bounce forward and you’ll go through the window of a treetop hut. Inside, defeat three Team Flora Grunts (2 SR, 1 w/shield) and collect three Potions from each of them. Then head through the door and down the walkway. Here, defeat two Gloom Mechs (Tier 3, use red Stun Spore) and head right at the next tree and platform. You can also head forward to find another hut containing a 1UP, two X Attacks, and four female Flora Grunts. On the main path, you’ll come to a vine. Jump to it and you’ll swing to another. Grab onto that vine and swing to yet another. There are three Venomoth Drones (1) here as well. At the end of the vines, you’ll land on a spring on the side of the tree in front. It’ll bounce you to another walkway high up. Here, another Killer Plant (1) comes down. Defeat this one to drop another vine wall behind it. After the vine wall are two Team Flora grunts (1 FR, 1 w/shield). Defeat them and go forward at the next tree. There’s a path that goes to the left leading to a hut. In the hut are three female Flora grunts and a Potion. On the main path, a spring to the right of the edge of the walkway will bounce you to another walkway going forward. On this one, defeat two Exeggutor Totems (2) that drop down from above. At the next tree, there’s a spring at the right end of the platform. Bounce off it to reach another vine. Swing from it to the next and then to the next. After reaching this vine, a Killer Plant (1) will drop down behind you. Dodge its seed bombs and reach a fourth vine. After this one, you’ll reach a walkway going right. Defeat three more male Flora Grunts (2 FB, 1 w/shield) here and you’ll come to another tree. Defeat four Sunflora Sawblades (2) on dead-end walkways going right and forward to drop the vine gate to the left of the tree. You can now head forward. Where the walkway ends a solid path leading to the large tree, lined with bushes, begins. At the end of the path, there is a checkpoint and your first Flora Soldier (1) drops down. Defeat this large and tough robot to open the vine-locked door behind it. Head through the door and you’ll be inside the large tree. Simply head forward and a large ring of large vines and vine spikes will rise up from the ground, trapping you. Then, about eight large saws drop down from above, embed themselves into the ground, jump out of the ground, and hover in the air, turning themselves over to lie flat and forming a close knitted circle. Then, a large, octagonal craft with four more large saws connected to the sides of the craft and two large blade rings spinning around it hovers down onto the saws. Inside the craft happens to be Seth, a Team Flora Admin. He’ll bring up that he’s been sent by his boss to stop you. A midboss battle will now begin. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- //Flora Admin Seth// Health: 120 Attack 1: Saw Spiral – The saws on the side of the craft will spin around the craft at high speed while being shot off the craft. They will then come back to the craft after reach the edge of the arena. Attack 2: Homing Rings – The large rings hovering around the craft will be shot off one at a time towards you. The rings will follow you around the room for several seconds before coming back to the craft. Attack 3: Laser Blade – The main saws will retract into the craft, and laser saws are generated on the saw lines. These laser blades will then be shot at you one at a time, exploding upon impact. Strategy: This midboss is tougher than the last two. The Flora Blader, of course, will hover a little over the ground and move around. The rings spinning around the Flora Blader deflect attacks and can’t be destroyed. Neither can any of the saws. When the rings move up and down, there will be an open space that you can use to do some damage to the craft. Even melee attacks will be able to hit the Flora Blader here. As an extra pinch of difficulty, though, for every eighth of health lost from Seth, he’ll send one of the saws from beneath the craft outward and it will bounce around the arena. These saws will also bounce off of the Flora Blader and other saws. When about half of the craft’s health is gone, Seth will also start launching laser blades at you. Throughout all this danger and difficulty, there are three Potions on the edges of the arena. Just keep up your attack and dodging pattern and the Flora Blader will eventually explode. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Once Seth’s been taken down, he’ll curse you for defeating him, then fire large vines upward, then use them to quickly rise upward out of your sight. Once he’s gone, the vine barriers will go down and there will be a spiraling path coming out of the tree walls. Head up this spiraling platform and defeat two Cacturne Sentries (2) before you come to a gap. Here, there is a scanner equipped Venomoth Drone (3) that will send in many Cacturne Sentries (2), Sunflora Sawblades (2), and even Exeggutor Totems (2) along the entire path if you’re caught. Anyway, jump the gap and keep going up the path. There are three M16 Rifle-equipped Team Flora Grunts here you need to defeat and three female ones to just pass. At the end of the path is a spring. Use it to bounce to a set of vines that go further up the tree interior. The vines go right, up, right, down, far right, far up, left, down, left, far up, right, up, right, up, left, far up, and right again. On the way are five Venomoth Drones (2) you must dodge. At the top of the vines, you’ll come to another spiraling path. Here, you may notice a wide green laser being fired at you. It happens to be because of a flower on the other wall. These flower buds have been genetically enhanced by Team Flora to fire laser beams at intruders. There are about three more Laser Flowers along the way up the tree, as well as four more Flora Grunts (2 FT, 2 w/shields). After reaching another gap, be careful of the Flower’s laser unless you want to start back from where you fought Seth. After crossing the gap, you’ll have to cross another gap, then another, and then one more. Here, there are 3 Sunflora Sawblades (3) of pink-and-sky colors, which not only can deflect their blades back at you, but also launch small several Sunkern Probes, which here will fire seed bullets. At the top of the path is a land bridge leading to a set of vine-locked doors out of the tree. A Killer Plant (1) drops down here. Defeat it and then a Flora Soldier (1) will do the same. Defeat that and the door will open up. You emerge in a higher tree village section. There is a checkpoint in the solid bridge leading to the treetop walkway ahead. Here, the ground is far below the lower brush canopy below this section, so falling will cost you a life. Cross the walkway until you see three Team Flora Grunts (2 M16, 1 w/shield) drop down. Defeat them and collect a Potion behind the tree on the platform ahead. Take the right turn here and defeat two more Sunflora Sawblades (2) as you near a spring. This will bounce you onto a vine to the left that you must swing across to another vine ahead. After this vine, you’ll reemerge on a walkway, but there happens to be laser walls ahead along the path. When some of the lasers fade, that’s your chance to slip by them, but three Cacturne Sentries (3) make things a little more difficult here. At the next tree, head forward into the hut to grab a 1UP, but if the Venomoth Drone (3) inside catches you with its scanner, the doors leading out will lock and a multitude of Exeggutor Totems (2) will teleport in. Back at the tree, head left to find another spring that will bounce you up to another vine. Swing to the next one in front, and then swing to the next when the time is right quickly because there’s another Laser Flower on the tree to the right. At the next vine, swing right away again (at the swing’s peak) to avoid the laser attack of the next Flower. This vine takes you to the right. After this vine, you’ll land back on another walkway. There is a tree beyond four Team Flora Grunts (2 SR, 1 FR, 1 w/shield) and a laser field. Defeating the grunts drops the lasers. Here, you can continue forward or take a left path and bounce off a spring to take an item longcut. If you go forward, there are three Cacturne Sentires (2) blocking another laser grid. Defeat them to open it. If you go left, you will be bounced to a distant tree with a walkway going forward towards it. Here, defeat four Sunflora Sawblades (2) to drop the laser field blocking the left and forward paths. Go down the left to find a hut containing two X Attacks, two X Speeds, and three female Flora Grunts. Go forward to find another hut with two X Defenses and two Potions as well as a single female Flora grunt. After getting the items, take the right path and use the spring at the end to bounce back to ahead of the laser fence. At the end of the walkway is a land bridge leading to a set of vine-locked doors. Here, two Killer Plants (1) drop down. Defeat them to open the doors and head into the next area. You’ll enter a short tunnel with 2 Tropius Tanks (2) and a Potion to collect. Just get the item and head through the next set of doors. You’ll enter a large, bottomless chamber with more snapping flowers and a checkpoint in front of you when you enter. There’s a string of red flowers in front of you. Jump across them to reach a non-snapping flower platform with two Team Flora Grunts on it. (Watch out, they have Flora Railguns!) To your left is another string of red flowers making a left turn and three Venomoth Drones (2) hovering over them. To your right is a string of magenta flowers. The red flowers simply guide you to another flower platform while the magenta ones lead you to a flower platform with a Potion, then another string of magenta flowers lead you to yet another flower platform with an X Speed. After this is yet another string of magenta flowers leading to one more flower platform with a spring that bounces you to the end of the red flower path. Anyway, on this flower platform, a Killer Plant (1) drops down. Defeat it and use another string of red flowers going forward, right, right, left, and left once more lead you to one more flower platform. However, along the way, a multitude of Laser Flowers on the far wall will fire at you. Also, at the second right turn is a string of magenta flowers going left. Take these (if your character can) to collect a 1UP as the path goes right towards the flower platform. On this flower, three Sunflora Sawblades (2) drop down. Defeat them and a Flora Cage on the edge will open up to reveal a spring to one more flower platform. Here, another Killer Plant drops, down, but this one is magenta with a teal stem. Not only does it have more health, but it also fires a stream of acid in addition to seed bombs and can try to eat you if you get too close. After defeating it, use the spring to bounce straight to the doors. Head through. You’ll emerge is a downward-sloping tunnel that moves towards the right. More laser grids are here and also a few Laser Flowers. Wait for the lasers to drop before passing through. There are about seven Team Flora grunts (2 M16, 1 MC, 1 FT, 1 w/shield, 2 female) in this area as well. Defeat them and go through the doorway. This next tunnel is much more linear and straight, but is cluttered in a large, moving grid of green lasers. Jump, duck, and move your way through them, defeating four Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use red Stun Spore) along the way to reach another set of vine-locked doors. Here, another Flora Soldier (2) drops down. Defeat it to unlock the doors and you’ll emerge is another lab area. This one looks much like the one you went through earlier, including a floating TV in the center. However, walk a little into it, and large, green spikes emerge from near the corners of the lab. Large, green lasers form in between the spikes, trapping you. As an alarm sounds, a whopping ten Team Flora Grunts (2 M16, 2 AGL, 2 SG, 2 FR, 2 w/shields) drop down from above as a red emergency light blankets the area. You must defeat all the Team Flora Grunts. Once they’re down, a squadron of four Cacturne Sentries (2), four Sunflora Sawblades (2), and two Exeggutor Totems (2) teleport in. There are four Potions in the lab area for you to use if necessary. During the entire time the alarm is blaring, this phrase will be repeated every thirty seconds by the base’s OS system; “INTRUDER DETECTED IN BASE! INTRUDER HAS BREACHED LEVEL 3! ACTIVATING EMERGENCY ROBOT SYSTEMS!” After defeating all enemies, the spikes will drop down and you’ll be able to enter the door to your left. You’ll enter yet another downward sloping tunnel going to the left. Here, you will be faced with six Gloom Mechs (Tier 3, use red Stun Spore, four scanner-equipped Venomoth Drones (2), and two Tropius Tanks (2). Also, there are four laser fields in the tunnel as well. If you get caught in any of the scanners, you’ll just be worse off as Cacturne Sentries (3), Sunflora Sawblades (3), and Exeggutor Totems (2) also clutter the tunnel. Once all enemies are defeated, two Flora Soldiers (1) will drop down. Defeat them and the vine-locked doors will finally open. Go through the doors, cross a checkpoint, and go through another set of doors to reach a green-tinted restroom hall. There’s a men’s restroom to your left and a women’s restroom to your right at the hall’s center. You won’t be able to head through the doors at the other end until you take care of whatever’s in your character’s designated restroom. If you’re using a male character, head into the men’s restroom where you’ll see stalls to your left, sinks to your right, and Brad in the middle. Brad will attack you with both an M16 Rifle and a Flora Railgun. As you fight him, in this order, two Cacturne Sentries (2), two Sunflora Sawblades (2), and three Tropius Tanks (3) will teleport into the room. Once they and Brad are subdued, the doors outside will unlock. If you’re using a female character, head into the female’s restroom where you’ll see stalls to your right, sinks to your left, and Xenia in the middle. Xenia will attack you with both an acid grenade launcher and a Flora Tek. As you fight her, in this order, two Cacturne Sentries (2), two Venomoth Drones (2), and three Exeggutor Totems (3) will teleport into the room. Once they and Xenia are subdued, the doors outside will unlock. If you’re using Duplica, you’ll have to enter both restrooms to unlock the doors. Disguise yourself as a male after having dealt with Xenia to enter the men’s restroom.

Regardless of which Admin (or Admins) you fought, after this point, Team Flora will have left the cave and the red emergency lights and OS system will end. However, the group’s robots still remain. Also, Celebi will have made its way into the facility. You’ll need to follow it as is makes its way through the stage. If enemies attack it, it’ll take damage (it has 150 HP) and it faints, you’ll fail the entire mission. Head up the upward-sloping tunnel, defeating only three Cacturne Sentries (2) (good thing, the last tunnel was probably murder) and avoiding two Laser Flowers to reach a vine-locked door. Just press the switch here to unlock the door and enter an unusual area. Here, you come to another forest section, except the trees are upside down! They happen to be hanging on the ceiling if you look up; you can even see their roots embedded into the cavern ceiling! Far below the trees happens to another poison pool, so falling down here will send you to a toxic, murky death. Anyway, head forward onto the treetop walkway (at least the treetop village system is right-side-up) and take out a Sunflora Sawblade (3) at the tree ahead. Take a left turn and you’ll have to take down a Tropius Tank (2) at the edge of the path. Upon doing so, a large cage of vines will quickly sprout from flowers on both ends of the walkway. Climb the vine cage to reach a set of horizontal vines going forward. The vines here go forward, far right, right, slope down, go left, slope down, go right, slope far up, level, slope up, go left, far left, and you’ll come to a vine wall with a flappable door on the front. Along the way, about four Venomoth Drones (2) will make things a little difficult for you. Flip over to the other side and use a spring at the bottom of the wall to bounce to a vine. Swing across the vine to another that faces right. Here, there is a laser grid that you’ll have to wait to drop before swinging to the next vine. Another laser field after this vine requires you to do the same thing. The next vine faces right, and a laser wall after it drops some of its lasers periodically. Wait for it to make an opening that you can swing through first.
After this point, you’ll land back on a walkway with a checkpoint in front of you. Go forward and a Killer Plant (2) drops down. Defeat it and when you come to the next tree, head right to find a hut with two Potions and an X Defense. Back at the tree, head left to find another vine. Here, swing to the next vine only once the laser fence drops the upper lasers and at the next vine, you can either swing forward once the lower lasers drop and reach the next walkway or wait until the vine is at its lowest and drop off then. If you do, you’ll drop down to a hidden walkway near the canopy where at the tree happens to stand two Cacturne Sentries (2) and a large Flora Cage. Defeat to open the cage, which happens to contain a Gravity Scope, a Miracle Eye Scope, and the base’s Full Restore. After collecting all three, use the spring to the left to bounce to another spring hanging from a dangling vine to reach another walkway, which is a shortcut. If you took the main path, you would have had to defeat a Sunflora Sawblade (3) to drop lasers in front of the tree, head left and defeat an Exeggutor Totem (2), then use a spring to bounce to the same walkway. On this walkway, run as numerous Laser Flowers set their sights on you and their lasers sweep the path. At the next tree, you can head forward to enter a hut with a Potion and head down the path to its right for an X Attack. Head back to the tree and take the left path where along the way, you’ll run into two scanner-equipped Venomoth Drones (3). If you try to defeat one of them, another will just teleport onto the other side. Also, if one catches you, it’ll teleport in several Sunflora Sawblades (3), who in turn will dispatch Sunkern Probes with holo-scanners of their own that teleport in either Gloom Mechs (Tier 3, use any powder) or Exeggutor Totems (2). In short, just run past these two and reach the end of the path with a vine rail you can grind on. Jump on and grind the vine to the right, then right again, cruising by the hut, left, up, left again, left once more, and then right as you reach a spring that bounces you to a land bridge leading out of the room. There are 3 Venomoth Drones (2) near the rails and two Sunflora Sawblades (2) on it.
After going through the door, cross the checkpoint in front and enter the next doors. You’ll emerge in what looks like an empty chamber, save for several giant flytraps and about three Sunflora Sawblades (2) and three Gloom Mechs (Tier 3, use blue Sleep Powder). Go forward, and more vine spikes will burst from the ground, turning this room into another vine maze. The vines make it so you have to cross over the flytraps to reach the other side. When you step on one, you have two seconds to cross it before it snaps shut on you, taking away 30 of your health! Fortunately, there are about three Potions here as well you can get. Once you reach the door on the other side, head through. You’ll head through another short tunnel containing a scanner-quipped Venomoth Drone (2). If you get caught by it, several Tropius Tanks (3) will then teleport in, making things for both you and Celebi harder. You’ll enter another lab area going to the left with a floating TV in the middle (which says the same thing as the other two). However, once you enter the lab, green lasers will activate from all sides and directions and five Cacturne Sentries (2) will teleport in, making this lab dangerous. Get past them and the lasers and reach the next set of doors on the opposite wall to the left to enter a short hall with four Gloom Mechs (Tier 2, use blue Sleep Powder) and another set of doors to head through to enter another large chamber. Now this is where things get fast! There are large pillars with computer screens on them bearing the Team Flora symbols and thick vines wrapping around them. Also weaving its way throughout the entire room is a half-pipe path, littered with Dash Panels. Start dashing across the panels in the front to start an ascent downward, make a left turn, swerve to the right as the path leans, turn left, and bounce off springs to two massive vines spiraling around each other. Run across the left path for a Potion. Run across the right path for an X Speed. Jump between the vines when they meet for a 1UP. The vines then meet back up at another half-pipe path. Here, you’ll be boosted upward, then head forward. However, there are now laser grids on both sides of the pipe. Swerve by them using the dash panels and you’ll come to a Jump Ramp.
This will boost you to another massive vine wrapping around one of the pillars. Spiral up the vine until you reach the top, where a spring will send you to another half-pipe path. Now, endless laser fields make up harmful rails on both tops of the pipe, so be careful not to run up too high! You’ll cruise down towards a left turn, followed by a right turn. Here, you’ll come to another jump ramp, which will boost you to a rail you must grind on around the pillars. The rail will curve left, go upward-forward, go right, spiral around a pillar, go down, and level off. A spring will bounce you to one last rail vine. This one just goes straight with a right-and left curve in the middle. At the end you’ll be bounced to the next checkpoint and a set of doors. There’s only a little left to go, so be grateful. You’ll enter another bottomless chamber with snapping flowers. Simply cross the ones in front and upon reaching the last one, you’ll have to homing attack across three Venomoth Drones (3), then reach a flower beyond. Hopefully, you’ll land on it before it closes and can jump off it to another one to the right. Jump on another to its left and reach a safe flower platform. Here, defeat a Tropius Tank (3) to make a group of vines drop down. Jump to the first one and swing to the next, then one facing left, and yet another after that. Here, wait for the snapping flower next up to open before swinging off the vine (at its peak). After landing, jump to another flower ahead, then another going to the right, and yet another after it. Jump here and bounce off a spring dangling from a vine to bounce to a small circle of four flowers. Two Killer Plants (2) drop down in the middle and you must defeat both of them to make a few large trees burst forth from below and rise upward. Jump onto a platform on the first tree, then jump to one of the next, and then one on the next. After jumping to the fourth tree platform, bounce off a spring dangling from a vine to reach a land bridge in front of a door. Here, a Flora Soldier (2) will drop down. Defeat the robot to unlock the doors and head through to the next area.
You’ll enter a tunnel sloping downward with Laser Flowers on every surface, so quickly dash down the tunnel until you reach a shaft and drop down. Along the way, you’ll have to dodge moving green lasers and reach the bottom of the shaft. From there, head down another sloping shaft past some laser grids and you’ll reach another shaft. Drop down this one past more moving green lasers and you’ll reach a set of doors at the bottom. Head through to enter another lab area. This one doesn’t seem as secured as the others, and a floating TV resides in the middle for you to check, even though it’s the same as the previous three. If you look to your left and right, there are two Flora Cages holding two X Attacks in the left one and two X Defenses in the right one. To open them, try scanning your fingerprint on the TV, but when it fails to read your print, it’ll teleport in six Sunflora Sawblades (3) to make things harder, so grab the items and head through the next set of doors to enter a tunnel. This tunnel is short, only holding two Exeggutor Totems (3) that will drop down. Get past them and head trough the doors up ahead to enter another massive chamber. This one happens to be another poison lake area and a checkpoint resides right where you enter the room. Head forward on the land bridge until you reach some floating platforms in the acidic liquid. From there, you’ll have to jump across a series of five of these quickly, as they sink into the water as soon as you land on one. Along the way, watch out for five Venomoth Drones (2) and you’ll reach a large flower next. In the center of the flower, there’s a Flora Cage containing a switch. TO open it, you’ll have to defeat six Sunflora Sawblades (2) that drop down one at a time onto the flower. Once they’re all defeated, press the switch inside the cage to cause several trees to burst out of the poison water to your left. Once they stop growing, jump from tree platform to tree platform upward since the toxic muck will also start rising. It’ll stop once you’re on the highest tree platform and can jump onto another flower. Here, a Killer Plant (2) will drop down, so defeat it and now it’s time to make your way across more snapping flowers. As soon as you land on the first one, however, the poison water will rise once more, so you’ll have to keep up the timed jumping before it catches up with you. Once you’re at the highest snapping flower, you’ll jump to a vine.
Now things get even trickier here, as you’ll first have to swing to the right to another vine and then to another vine. At this point, the toxic water will rise once more, so you’ll have to quickly swing to the next vine and swing upward on that one to another and then swing to another and then swing to one more vine to land on a solid flower. It’s still not safe yet, as from tree-like vines on both sides, Laser Flowers will fire upon you as you’ll have to homing attack 4 Venomoth Drones (2) to get to the next flower. Now get ready to escape the rising poison once more as you’ll have to homing attack 3 more Venomoth Drones going upward to reach another flower, where a spring will bounce you to a higher flower up ahead with a Sunflora Sawblade (3) you will have to defeat to open another Flora Cage with a spring to bounce you right to another flower. There are three Gloom Mechs (Tier 3, use blue Sleep Powder) to avoid and another spring on the NW petal to bounce to one last flower with two Cacturne Sentries (3) and another spring. This one will bounce you to a solid land path with a door and an Exeggutor Totem (3) to get by and enter the door before the poison liquid reaches the bridge. Only a little to go! You’ll emerge in a wide tunnel lined with laser fields, Laser Flowers, and gigantic flytraps. Move forward and more vine spikes sprout up, making this yet another maze. There are also a total of four Sunflora Sawblades (3), four Cacturne Sentries (3), two Exeggutor Totems (3), and two Tropius Tanks (3) in this entire area. Follow the maze tunnel until it turns left and slopes downward. Eventually, the tunnel will turn to the right and eventually slope down some more. At the end of the tunnel happens to be two Flora Soldiers (2). Deal with them the same way you dealt with the others and the vine-locked door in front of them will open. In the next room, you will see an opening in the ceiling in which Celebi will fly through, taking it out of the complex. Now that Celebi’s safe, there is a large door with the Team Flora symbol on it and also a checkpoint. Cross the checkpoint and go up to the door. It will slowly open after a couple lights light up on a panel on it and you’ll head through.
You’ll enter a large, bare room with large, octagonal computer screens on each wall showing the Team Flora symbol, four large mossy rocks, and also a Potion in each corner. Head forward a little and suddenly, what looks like a massive, lotus-like flower drops down. However, some parts of this gigantic plant look mechanical. Suddenly, the enormous petals open up to reveal a robotic, steel-and-glass pod in which Farlie, the leader of Team Flora, sits. He’ll demand where Celebi is. Of course, Celebi already got out of here while it still could. Finding out this, Farlie decides to make sure you don’t escape the base alive. After this conversation, you’ll have your third boss battle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// BOSS: FLORA LEADER FARLIE Health: 180 Attack 1: Vine Burrow – Drills the vines into the ground. The vines then burst from the ground below you, follow you around and create vine walls to block you. Attack 2: Acid Jet – Farlie will fire a large stream of acid from the flower at you for several seconds. Touching the puddles that it leaves behind also damage. Attack 3: Plant Devour – If you’re within the flower when it closes, you’ll be swallowed and drenched in acid for 5 seconds, then spit back out afterwards. Attack 4: Acid Pool – Drills the vines into the ground and pumps acid into the room. The acid slowly rises to the point of the two moss rocks in the chamber, the only places safe from the acid. Strategy: Get ready for a fight. Farlie’s Flora Garden mech is tough! The flower happens to be impervious to all attacks, even Fire-type ones! The mech will hoist itself onto the ceiling using several large vines and hang from there while attacking you with large vines and acid surges. You’ll need to use ranged attacks in order to cut the vines. If you do, the Flora Garden will drop down and the flower will open up. If your character has only melee attacks, periodically, the mech will drop down to the ground and the flower will open up. Here, attack the pod in the middle as much as possible. If you’re using melee attacks, get out of the flower area before it closes or you’ll be sucked in and take on major damage. About halfway through the battle Farlie will also start attempting to drown you in acid. When he drills the vines into the ground and you see a flowing motion coming from them, quickly jump to one of the mossy rocks in the room to avoid the rising acid. One you’ve done enough damage, the Flora Garden will be reduced to fertilizer. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Once Farlie’s been defeated, he swears to make sure that one day, you’ll pay for your trespasses. At this point, he’ll leave and leave a large bomb where he once stood. At this point, the alarms and lights come back on as the base’s self-destruct sequence has been activated. The cavern’s OS system will go off with this message: “DANGER! DANGER! BASE SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE ACTIVATED! BASE SELF-SESTRUCT SEQUENCE ACTIVATED! ONE MINUTE TO DETONATION! ONE MINUTE TO DETONATION! At the thirty second mark, it’ll say “30 SECONDS UNTIL SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE COMPLETE! EVACUATE FACILITY!” You now have one minute to escape from the cave, but that happens to be as easy as defeating a common enemy! Simply take the bomb to the back end of the room and detonate it. It will create a hole in which you can escape through. You can also use an Explosion attack to open this path. Either way, once you’ve done so, head through to finally finish the stage! If possible, you’ll now be able to move onto the next episode!
