SAN DIALES
Description: "An amazing coastal city filled with various people from around the world. This place is also known for such things as an assortment of rich people and also where the majority of movies are shot."
Music Notes: An original day-based Los Angeles/San Franciscan track plays throughout the hub during the daytime. An original night-based Los Angeles/San Franciscan track plays throughout the hub during the nighttime.
We've now made it to the city of San Diales, which is based off of Californian cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Malibu. It's best to view this place as a West Coast counterpart to Empire City. Anyway, this hub is as big as the Aquamuda hub and has a number of places for you to visit. Note that it's most likely nighttime here since it was daytime when you defeated Archie. The description of this hub is mostly based off of daytime. Like in the Aquamuda hub, there are a number of floating TV's that indicate what each place here is. Here is a description of each of the places to be found within San Diales.
San Diales Park: This is where Tails parks the Tornado and thus is where you start the hub. This place happens to be a large park that during the day is filled with lots of people. At night, their numbers are far fewer. One person that's here regardless of the time of day is referred to as Boss (this is the same Boss that's seen in Empire City in the Xbox360/PS3 version of Sonic Unleashed, not the one from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater). The Boss will welcome you to San Diales and bring up a bit about the city, such as it's a very clean city (a major contrast to what Los Angeles is like in the real world) and that he's from Empire City and is here on business. The Boss will explain that recently, a construction crew building a new mall discovered what looks like some sort of shrine buried beneath the city. Shortly after its discovery, a group called the Go-Rock Squad came and attacked the city, broke into the shrine, and stole a large orange plate from it. The Boss will finish his talk with himself wondering what that plate could be. If you go up to the large fountain in the middle of the park, a teenage girl (Sandra) will tell you the location of a Secret Item in the Palm Tree Streets stage. If you go north from the fountain to a bench under a palm tree, you'll find a black man (Jonah) reading a newspaper. If you talk to him, he'll explain that he's watching a video in the Local section about a weird Pokémon that's been spotted in the city (most likely Sunflorazumarill, and you may also notice he said he was watching a video as opposed to reading an article, indicating how advanced Pokémon world newspapers are). In a palm tree in the southwest quadrant of the park is a Max Revive, but you need all the Magic Materia before you can get it.
Kasumi Blvd/Natsume Ave: If you go east of San Diales Park, you'll reach Kasumi Blvd going to the right and left and the start of Natsume Ave (some floating TV's in this hub act like street signs). In the area in between both halves of Kasumi Blvd is a street performer (Kerry) who's performing for anyone that drives by. Note that on any roads here, cars are courteous as to stop when they get near you as to not ram you. You can head down Natsume Ave until you reach a road that starts to the right that is called Akane St.
Natsume Ave/Akane St: If you head down the sidewalk on Akane St, you'll find a teenage snob (Maddy) who'll just tell you to get out of her way. Just a bit from where she is happens to be is a taco stand named "Mariachi Amigos!" There's a patio with umbrella-covered tables here and a couple people sitting down in them. Go to the stand itself to find a Mexican man (Juarez) who you can buy various food items from. Here's a list of what you can buy here:
Mariachi Amigos!
Beef Taco: 300p
Chicken Taco: 300p
Burrito: 350p
Enchilada: 300p
Nachos: 250p
Taco Salad: 350p
Rice: 200p
Guacamole: 200p
Salsa: 150p
Langostino: 400p
If you keep down the sidewalk, you'll find the hub's Poké Mart. The inventory at this Mart is only a little more than that of the Aquamuda Poké Mart. Here's the inventory for this particular Poké Mart:
Poké Mart
Potion: 100p**
Burn Heal: 150p*
Antidote: 150p*
X Attack: 200p
X Defend: 200p
X Speed: 200p
Foresight Scope: 300p**
Hindsight Scope: 300p**
Gravity Scope: 300p**
* -Stored in your inventory until either selected or status condition that the item cures afflicts the chosen character (in which case it's used automatically).
**-Stored in your inventory until selected.
If it's daytime, across the street from the Poké Mart happens to be a man (Enrico) who'll ask you where he should take his girlfriend out to dinner. He either wants to take her to a fancy, but expensive restaurant or the pizzeria at the next street, which is cheaper. Choose "You should treat her to something special tonight." and Enrico will give you Music CD ##, something he says his girlfriend isn't really fond of. You can keep going down Akane St. until it intersects with Mikan Blvd.
Akane St/Mikan Blvd: The second you reach this busy street, turn west to find the pizzeria Enrico was talking about, called "Marialo's Slicery". You can head inside to find a few tables with some people at them. On the right side is a couple and their son (Martin, Mariana, and Matt) having a pizza. If you talk to Mariana, she'll explain that while she and her husband were touring the city, she came across a special item that she thinks you could check out. She'll give you a picture of where that item is located, which is in the Night Skyscraper stage. Keep that picture for later. Anyway, head up to the front counter to find Marialo, who after explaining how he makes his pizzas with fresh homemade dough and sauces, will ask you to buy something. Here is the list of what you can buy here:
Marialo's Slicery
Basic Pizza: 400p
Veggie Pizza: 350p
Meat Pizza: 450p
Seafood Pizza: 450p
Spicy Pizza: 400p
Veggie Sub: 300p

Pizza Sub: 300p
Italian Sub: 350p
Club Sub: 250p
From the intersection, you can head east down Mikan Blvd until you find either a bus (if it's day) or a taxi (if it's night). The floating TV at the bus stop states that it's headed for Terrace Hills (if it's night, the floating TV says "Bus Not In Service") If you board the bus, you'll notice there's no one at the seat. If you talk to some of the people on the bus, they'll explain that it's an automated bus, but that it still won't let you ride if you can't pay for the ride. Go up to the video screen near the driver's seat and it'll ask you for 200p. Pay and an automated voice from it will say "Route 9, Terrace Hills" before departing for that location. If it's night and thus a cab is there instead, the driver (Grifford) will ask for 400p before taking you to Terrace Hills.
Terrace Hills: Terrace Hills happens to be a bit of a contrast from the rest of the San Diales hub, in the fact that it's something out of Bel Air or the Hamptons. Both sides of the street are lined with mansions with sprawling yards. There are even floating TV's stationed near each gate to tell who lives in that mansion. The first one of the left states that the mansion belongs to the Delarouge family. At the second mansion on the right is a boy (Billy) who's sad that his favorite Lotad Frisbee went over the fence and that they won't let him in to get it. If you check the floating TV for the fourth mansion on the left, you'll discover it's a summer home belonging to James's family, but that no one's there currently. The fifth mansion on the right is interesting as the gate is open, allowing you to head on through and go up the front of the mansion, where a poor-looking man (Jebidiah) is sitting. He'll explain that he's originally from Pyrite Town in Orre and that one day in the desert, he accidentally struck a huge deposit of oil. After giving the oil to the World Oil Reserve, he became a billionaire and he and his family packed up and moved here to Terrace Hills in San Diales. (In case you don't know, Jebidiah's family is meant to be a parody of the Beverly Hillbillies.) If you head down to the end of the road, a Secret Item and two 200p items are available. The money is to pay the bus or taxi if needed to head back to the main part of the hub.

Hub Missions: Here's a list of the missions for the San Diales Hub:
Paris's Exhibition: Once you've cleared Paris's Exhibition mission in Adabat, you'll find Paris and her Lopunny out on Kasumi Blvd. Paris happens to be wearing an urban outfit consisting of a magenta sleeveless shirt with a slight midriff, baggy blue pants, and a pair of sunglasses in her hair and Lopunny is wearing a Hitmonchan-style outfit. Paris brings up that her next line of Pokémon and human fashion is the Hitmonchan Clothes, consisting of an urban-like Hitmonchan-like shirt and skirt. If you're playing as a female character whose listed age is anywhere between 14 and 28, you'll be able to partake in another mission where you and your Pokémon wear the Hitmonchan Clothes. This mission puts you in the Palm Tree Streets stage where you must clear the stage within 4:00. Once you've cleared this mission, Paris will consider the Hitmonchan Clothes a success and depart for the next part of her World Exhibition tour.
